Olvin's Day Out

The corridor opens onto Neo Arca’s food court, where fresh pastry, coffee, and warm sugar cut through the mall’s polished air. Jyn remains behind at her security station.

Eden Mittens, a five-foot-seven young adult catling woman with a voluptuous build and shoulder-length bubblegum-pink hair, stands behind a small bakery display.

Her display holds neat boxes of glazed rolls, fruit danishes, and little cream pastries. She arranges them between conversations with customers, moving with relaxed confidence.

Eden extends the sample across the counter, stopping well short of Olvin’s reach. Nearby diners glance over, their attention caught by the unusual pair and the towering mall beyond.

The pastry’s icing gleams beneath the food court lights. Eden keeps her hand extended at a respectful distance, waiting without blocking Olvin’s path or assuming his answer.

Olvin warily accepts the cinnamon knot. The small pastry rests in his hand, its icing glossy beneath the food court lights while the warm scent of sugar and spice rises around him.

Eden withdraws her hand and leans lightly against the bakery display, leaving Olvin a clear path toward the tables and the corridor beyond.

Around them, diners return to their meals and conversations. Eden watches with an easy smile, waiting to see whether he samples the knot or simply continues on.
