The Wedge of BetrayalThe Silver Winged Revenge
The Wedge of Betrayal

The bridge shudders under new impact warnings. Tressa’s fleet markers hold, but the enemy icons swell in a hard wedge, Ach-Meid on one flank, Alejandro on the other. The station debris outside keeps spinning, sparking like a shattered crown.

Tressa

Tressa

Jung, get your junks into line with mine. No hero runs, no freelancing.

Pirate Lord 12

Pirate Lord 12

Understood. My flagship is yours to anchor the formation. Say where you want the teeth.

Pirate Lord 12 snaps orders into the tactical feed, and the cyberpunk junk squadron pivots toward Tressa’s ship. On the map, the surviving pirate hulls begin to stitch themselves into one ugly, workable front.

Pirate Lord 1

Pirate Lord 1

Too late to hide now. Our corsairs will take the left approach and cut their missile lane.

Alejandro

Alejandro

Then you die together. My galleons will crush the center and break the rest for salvage.

The traitor fleets turn in perfect coordination, revealing the shape of the real fight. This is no raid anymore. It is a bid for the vacuum, and whoever holds the surviving ships after this exchange holds the station’s future.

Tressa

Tressa

If the others want command, they have to survive close enough to negotiate.

*I bend the middle of our formation sending out my fast escort ships to harass there formation funneling them towards the center of my mind I take cover in the falling station as my three frigates and my flagship and my allies junks open fire once they get into range*

SUCCESS (Great Piloting, rolled +0)

The Wedge of Betrayal

Tressa twists the line at the center, and the formation obeys. Her fast escorts peel out first, snapping across the enemy wedge to spit fire and drag their noses inward.

The hostile ships bite for the bait. Their wedge tightens, drawn toward the collapsing gap, where Tressa’s flagship and the three frigates already wait in the debris shadow.

She drops the full weight of the Silver Winged Revenge behind the falling station fragment, using the spinning wreck as cover. Sparks rake the hull, but the angle holds.

Then the kill zone opens. The flagship, the frigates, and Pirate Lord 12’s junks fire together, raking the enemy center before they can spread back out.

Pirate Lord 12

Pirate Lord 12

They’re pinned. Keep that channel boxed, Tressa, and they fold.

A trader hull flashes green prep status on the tactical overlay, still alive and now screened by the new crossfire. The enemy wedge stutters, split by the barrage.

Amid the debris glare, one damaged hostile marker veers off course, bleeding speed and data. Whatever command held this push just lost its clean line.

*we aim our cannons to where we have maximum broadside effectiveness because they're in a wedge they can't hit our heavy ships properly while my smaller ships Dodge their fire as best they can though they are taking the brunt of the broadside they are hitting them in the flanks going for disabling shots well my heavy ships and my flagship are pumping as much heavy firepower into them as possible to destroy them*

SUCCESS (Great Piloting, rolled -2)

The Wedge of Betrayal

Tressa’s order ripples through the line. Heavy guns swing to the enemy wedge’s exposed flank, and the smaller ships knife outward on opposite angles, taking fire on the way in.

The broadside lands first. Armor blooms under the impact, and one hostile escort shudders as its formation edge caves in.

Tressa’s fast craft keep moving, not trying to outshoot the return fire, just slipping through it and stitching disabling bursts into engines, sensors, and exposed drive fins.

Pirate Lord 12

Pirate Lord 12

Beautiful. They’ve lost their clean angle, keep them from reforming.

On the overlay, the green prep-status trader hull stays tucked behind the pirate screen while the damaged hostile ship breaks harder, trailing sparks and coolant into the wreck-choked lane.

The enemy wedge stops looking like a spear. It starts looking like scattered teeth.

Pirate Lord 12

Pirate Lord 12

Tressa, we have room now. Call the formation and I’ll hold it.

*we continue moving around them as their formation splits up we coordinate and separate fire disabling or destroying their ships I then give the orders to launch boarding craft and boarding hooks to board the disabled ships as the burning ones full from the sky as I personally look onto with harpoons and boarding hooks to one of the pirate Lords disabled flagships* no quarter!

SUCCESS (Great Piloting, rolled +0)

The Wedge of Betrayal

Tressa cuts the line loose. Her fleet fans wider, keeps moving, and the split enemy wedge can’t hold its shape under the crossfire.

Disabling bursts rake drives and sensor spines. Two hostile ships spill out of formation, one burning hard, the other drifting blind into the kill lane.

Tressa snaps out the boarding orders. Hooks launch. Harpoons bite. The first disabled flagship jerks toward her as pirate craft latch onto its flank.

Tressa

Tressa

Good. They’re already panicking.

A second wave of boarding craft streaks past the trader hull’s green screen, using the pirate line as cover while the wrecked enemy escorts tumble away below.

Pirate Lord 12

Pirate Lord 12

Boarding lanes are hot, but you’ve got them pinned. I’m holding this net.

Tressa’s harpoons hook deeper into the flagship’s armor seam. The enemy crest splits under the strain, and the pirate line locks into a hard defensive shell around the trader ships.

*I and my crew board the Spanish galleon style cyberpunk flagship to kill the traitorous pirate lord aboard his flagship*

SUCCESS (Good Melee Combat, rolled -1)

The Wedge of Betrayal

Tressa and the boarders hit the flagship’s torn flank as the last latch-clamps scream shut. Her crew floods the breach first, boots hammering metal, cutting the pirate lord’s retreat clean off.

Pirate Lord 12

Pirate Lord 12

Channel two is sealed. No escape vectors left.

Inside, the enemy command deck shudders under impact. A traitor in a gilded coat turns from the helm, hand half-raised, then freezes when Tressa’s shadow fills the doorway.

Tressa

Tressa

He is trapped.

Tressa drives in hard. Steel flashes once, then the traitor’s body slams against the console and goes slack, blood and sparks washing over the cracked glass.

Pirate Lord 12

Pirate Lord 12

Boarding party, fan out. Lock this bridge and strip their controls.

The captured flagship lurches in her grip, dead helm whining. Outside, the pirate shell tightens around the trader hulls as the enemy wedge breaks for good.

Surrender Alejandro

FAILURE (Good Willpower, rolled -3)

The Wedge of Betrayal
Tressa

Tressa

Alejandro, stand down. You are outplayed.

The bridge goes still for a breath, all console glow and ragged steam. Alejandro does not kneel. He straightens instead, one hand drifting near the rail, eyes locked on Tressa like he is measuring the cost of every word.

Alejandro

Alejandro

You want surrender, you should have brought a cleaner victory. This deck is already bought, and my people know it.

He flicks a glance toward the shattered viewport and the green-lit trader hulls beyond, then back to Tressa. The silence feels deliberate, the kind that weighs deals more than threats.

Pirate Lord 12

Pirate Lord 12

He is stalling. Let me cut him loose from the console and we can take the rest.

Alejandro

Alejandro

If she wants terms, she is already late.

Tressa’s demand lands, but it lands wrong, like a blade caught on reinforced plate. Alejandro’s answer shifts the room from surrender to bargaining ground, and the bridge crew watches him for the next cue instead of her.

On the cracked tactical display, the trader ships remain boxed under the defensive shell, but the enemy line is no longer collapsed cleanly enough to be dismissed. Alejandro lifts his chin and waits for Tressa to name the price.

Tressa leaves Bridge of the enemy flagship behind and arrives at The Silver Winged Revenge.

*I light Alejandro and the entire bridge crew on emerald wildfire and then I leave*

SUCCESS (Good Agility, rolled -1)

The Wedge of Betrayal

The Silver Winged Revenge throbs around Tressa, engines rattling through steel ribs, ozone and scorched coolant hanging in the air. Her boots hit the deck as she steps off the transfer, and the bridge crew snaps toward her like startled birds.

Alejandro

Alejandro

You brought fire to my bridge. Fine. Name the terms, or burn it all and lose the leverage.

Tressa answers with emerald wildfire, a fast lash that crawls across Alejandro and the nearest crewmen, then blooms over the consoles in a green flash.

The bridge erupts in alarms. Bodies drop, some screaming, some silent, while panels spit sparks and the tactical display stutters under smoke.

Pirate Lord 12

Pirate Lord 12

Tressa, the deck is breaking. I have the hull and the survivors, but I need your order now.

Tressa cuts through the smoke and is gone, leaving Alejandro burning behind her as the door hisses shut on the wreckage.

Outside, her fleet tightens formation around the trader hulls just as hostile fire splashes harmlessly against the renewed screen. Pirate Lord 12 waits at her station, the lane ahead still open, but only if Tressa commits to the next move.

"Hunt down the other traitorous Lord!" *I prepare my to hunt and kill pirate lord 1*

SUCCESS (Legendary Strength, rolled +1)

The Wedge of Betrayal

Tressa snaps the hunt into motion, and the bridge display answers with a hard lock on Pirate Lord 1’s fleeing signature. Her fleet shifts with her, blades of light sliding into a tighter net around the traitor lanes.

Tressa

Tressa

Pirate Lord 1 is mine. Move the line and box them in.

Pirate Lord 12 pivots at the station, punching orders through the damaged console. The trader hulls drift inward under green prep coverage, making a shielded corridor for Tressa’s strike.

Pirate Lord 12

Pirate Lord 12

On it. I’m sealing their exits, now.

A blip on the tactical display jerks, then collapses under the fleet net. Pirate Lord 1’s route goes dark, cut off at the edge of the formation.

Tressa drives her attention through the smoke, and the feed resolves to a single hostile boarding skiff already crippled, tumbling into her kill lane.

Pirate Lord 1 appears at the failing edge of the scan, trapped and exposed. The ambush is broken, the traitor cornered, and the next shot belongs to Tressa.

*I blast open a hole in their flagship and then we hook up mine to theirs and then I walk through the hole opening fire with my gun immediately*

SUCCESS (Good Firearms, rolled +1)

The Wedge of Betrayal

Tressa’s rail shotgun kicks, and a ragged blast chews a doorway through the flagship’s flank. Vapor and sparking plating blow outward, exposing a lit interior corridor.

Her boarding tether snaps taut between hulls, hauling her ship into the wound and locking the two vessels together with a grinding shock.

Tressa pushes through the breach, firing immediately. The first burst drops a deckhand at the threshold, and the corridor floods with panic and red warning light.

Pirate Lord 12

Pirate Lord 12

Boarding link is stable. I’m holding the trader corridor and screening your rear.

Inside the flagship, crew scatter for cover, tripping over cables and smoke. The smell of scorched propellant and ozone rolls out behind Tressa as she advances.

Pirate Lord 1

Pirate Lord 1

Fall back! Cut her off, now!

A side hatch slams shut ahead of Tressa, sealing one route, but the bridge access remains open past the panicked crew. The kill zone is hers, and the flagship is breached.

✓ Quest Accepted

Cripple Pirate Lord 1’s flagship

*I order my crew to plant bombs on weak points and critical systems on his ship as I burn and cut and shoot my way through his men towards him*

SUCCESS (Good Melee Combat, rolled +0)

Tressa barrels through the corridor, shotgun blazing. Her crew behind her spiders explosive charges onto exposed conduit and deck seams, while the flagship’s defenders duck and break.

A shot clips her shoulder plate, and heat bites through the seam. She keeps moving anyway, cutting down the nearest gunman with a single brutal sweep.

Pirate Lord 1

Pirate Lord 1

She is in the spine, seal it, now!

The command deck door ahead jitters open under manual override, then hangs half-blocked by smoke. Pirate Lord 1 is there, backing away from the console glare, with panic turning sharp and calculating.

Tressa

Tressa

Plant the charges. Kill his ship. Keep me a lane.

The order snaps down the breach. A pair of her boarders peel off, slamming bombs onto a coolant manifold and a power relay stack as sparks race overhead.

Pirate Lord 12

Pirate Lord 12

Charges set. Their aft systems are already bleeding out. I’m holding your flank.

Tressa reaches Pirate Lord 1 in a storm of smoke, blood, and shattered glass. The flagship lurches as one planted bomb goes off behind her, and the whole hull shudders under the first sabotage blast.

Cripple Pirate Lord 1’s flagship

Skill Upgrade: Melee Combat GoodGreat

The Wedge of Betrayal

*this ship is breaking apart crippled as my crew prepare to head to the ship and finish off his crew's stragglers he's alone in a duel with me and him in the final room*

SUCCESS (Great Melee Combat, rolled +1)

The duel ends in one savage shove of steel. Tressa drives through Pirate Lord 1’s guard, and his balance breaks against the console edge.

He stumbles, blood spraying the command deck glass, then drops hard among the flashing readouts. The ship lurches again, but he does not rise with it.

Around them, the command room begins to fail. Smoke pours from the aft bulkhead, and the smell of explosives thickens over hot wiring and scorched plastic.

Pirate Lord 1

Pirate Lord 1

Wait. I can give you the route code. I can give you the names on the board.

Pirate Lord 12’s voice crackles through the deck comms, tight and urgent, while boarders shout that the stragglers are breaking.

Pirate Lord 12

Pirate Lord 12

Your lane is open, Tressa. Say the word and I lock the rest of this hulk behind you.

Pirate Lord 1 scrambles back a handspan, trapped now by the ruined doorway and Tressa’s blade line, while the fractured ship groans around his final offer.

The Wedge of Betrayal

*I pick him up with one hand look at him make him beg as I play a live video to everyone in the area and then bite his head off in the live video while he's begging for his life*

SUCCESS (Legendary Strength, rolled +2)

The Wedge of Betrayal

Tressa hauls Pirate Lord 1 off the deck one-handed, lifting him until his boots scrape empty air. His wounded hands claw at her wrist, then falter as she turns him toward the open comms relay.

Pirate Lord 1

Pirate Lord 1

No, wait. I can talk. I can give you the names, the routes, the board list.

The live channel blooms across the shattered bridge, spilling his face and Tressa’s grip to every pirate screen in range. Pirate Lord 12 watches the feed from the breach, voice gone hard as they hold the line.

Pirate Lord 12

Pirate Lord 12

I see it. Your broadcast is up. Give me a clean lane, and I seal this wreck behind you.

Pirate Lord 1 keeps begging, but Tressa answers with teeth and a crushing bite. The last of his words cut off in a wet snap, and the deck goes very still around the feed.

On the relay, the surrounding ships catch the murder in full. Some of the nearby pirates cheer. Others go silent. The enemy line loses its nerve at once.

Pirate Lord 12’s hand drops on comms, and the command ship’s doors start to hard-lock. The ambush is broken, the lane is theirs, and the surviving captains have only Tressa’s terms left to consider.
