The stairwell narrows into shadow. Water drips from the busted pipe, and the evidence case is slick in Donald Trump's grip. Below, something hard and mechanical climbs toward them.

A security drone rounds the bend, low and sleek, its red sensor fixed on the case. It pivots with a thin whine, blocking the next flight down.

The wounded Other Suit recoils higher against the railing, trying to keep clear of the line of fire. The Security Chief shifts sideways, putting themself between the drone and Trump for one heartbeat.

The drone's sensor brightens, motors tightening as it prepares to surge. The stairwell feels one step from collapse.

Trump snaps the rifle up and fires through the Security Chief’s shoulder gap. The shot punches into the drone’s sensor cluster, and the machine jerks sideways in a shower of sparks.

The Security Chief recoils hard, but stays upright. The bullet has torn the drone’s housing open and ruined its aim.

The drone slams the railing, one rotor stuttering. Its red eye flickers, then tracks Trump’s case anyway, now blind to the chief’s body blocking half the stairwell.

A panel on the drone pops loose, and a clipped access label flutters free onto the wet step. Facility markings flash in the emergency light.

The stairwell lights dim again, but the drone’s exposed seam spits a hard white strobe down the lower flight, revealing a maintenance hatch beneath it.

Trump fires again. The round punches straight into the drone’s split seam, and the exposed side buckles inward with a hard metallic snap.

The drone pitches off the railing, rotors whining wildly, then drops out of sight down the stairwell with a burst of sparks and a deadening thud below.

The brief white strobe dies with it, and the lower flight falls back into the sick red emergency wash. The loose access label skids to a stop against Trump’s boot.

The maintenance hatch below the drone stands exposed, its latch jarred loose by the impact, and the stairwell’s kill angle breaks open for a second.
