Matoya Kaririba
The engines are getting louder, Kantorou. We cannot sit here forever while they box us in.
Matoya stalks toward the heavy bay door, his boots echoing against the concrete. He pauses, hand hovering near the rusted locking lever, his eyes fixed on the sliver of darkness between the metal sheets.

Kantorou Mashashiba
My ribs scream with every breath. If we run now, we leave the ledger behind. If we stay, we are trapped like rats.

Akira
Hold still, Kantorou. One more stitch or this bandage will slip. We have to be fast if you want to walk out of here.

Matoya Kaririba
Futaba is signaling from the roof. The east alley is still quiet, but the trucks are turning the corner. It is now or never.

Kantorou Mashashiba
Matoya is right. I will not die hiding in a hole. I need to make a choice.

Matoya Kaririba
The wall is buckling, Kantorou. They are not using trucks, they are using a hydraulic battering ram.

Kantorou Mashashiba
The metal groans, shivering under the pressure. If they break through, my best fighters will be crushed in the first wave.
Suddenly, a shadow eclipses the ambient light. Through the upper skylight, a massive, muscular figure in a dark blue gi drops silently into the center of the room, landing between the gang and the buckling door. He wears prayer beads that click against his chest as he stands.

Akuma
Your struggle is noisy. It offends the silence of the night.

Kantorou Mashashiba
He radiates a cold, killing intent that makes my skin crawl. Is he here to finish us, or is he simply annoyed by the neighborhood war?
“*I spend time healing with my strength*”
SUCCESS (Good Health, rolled +0)

Kantorou Mashashiba
My ribs throb, but the pain is a dull hum compared to the adrenaline. I grit my teeth and press my palms against the warehouse floor, focusing my energy.

Akira
Stay still, boss. You are pushing your body too hard.

Kantorou Mashashiba
The sharp sting fades, replaced by a steady, burning heat deep in my chest. My strength returns in a rush. I am ready.
Kantorou stands, his movements fluid and precise. The bandages pull tight against his muscular frame, no longer hindering his reach.

Akuma
You mend your flesh like a demon, boy. Such vitality is wasted on petty gang squabbles.

Kantorou Mashashiba
He does not move. He waits for me to acknowledge him, his eyes fixed on my throat. I should strike before he recovers from his landing, but he smells like a master of a different school. Do I engage this intruder, or do I focus on the bay door that is seconds away from splintering?

“How the hell are you so strong? *I keep bandaging*”
SUCCESS (Superb Willpower, rolled -1)

Kantorou Mashashiba
How the hell are you so strong?
Kantorou keeps the bandage in place with one hand, cinching it hard as he speaks. Akira's fingers hover near the knot, ready to tighten it again if the wound pulls open.

Akuma
Because I have cut away every weakness. You still cling to yours.
Akuma shifts his stance under the shattered skylight, feet settling into the glittering glass like he owns the floor. The bay door groans again, a deep metal complaint from somewhere behind Kantorou's shoulder.

Matoya Kaririba
Boss, the door can wait. That thing came here for you.
Kantorou finishes the wrap in one sharp pull, and the bandage holds. The pain is still there, but it no longer rules his body, and his arm comes free with full strength.
The bandage holds. He can move cleanly again.

Akira
If he moves, I patch you. If he comes closer, I hit him.
A fresh удар rings through the warehouse bay. The dent in the door bulges inward, and dust shakes loose from the frame as the unseen ram strikes again.
“Akuma... can you help us out... *I keep healing*”
FAILURE (Superb Willpower, rolled -3)

Akuma
You ask for help while you heal? No. Show me the real shape beneath the noise.
Akuma steps off the glittering glass and closes the distance in one smooth slide, not rushing, just certain. The air around him tightens like a drawn wire.

Kantorou Mashashiba
He is testing the opening.
Matoya snaps his head toward the bay door as another удар pounds the frame. The dent deepens, and the metal shrieks loud enough to drown the warehouse for a heartbeat.
Honda Futaba
Boss, the door is going to give. Now or never!

Akira
Kantorou, move. I can only cover one side!
Akuma angles his body between Kantorou and the exit, forcing the choice into the open. Behind him, the skylight rain of glass crunches under his heel as he settles to intercept.
The bay door bows again, a seam of daylight and dust showing through the buckle. Whatever is outside is close enough to reach in.
“Akuma... can you help us out... *I keep healing*”
SUCCESS (Good Health, rolled +1)

Kantorou drives through the pain and the last tightness in his ribs gives way. His breathing evens out as if the damage simply cannot hold him anymore.
Akuma watches the recovery happen, head tilting a fraction. For the first time, his stillness cracks into interest.

Akuma
...Good. That was the shape I wanted to see.

Akira
Boss, he just let you finish healing. Take the opening!
Matoya hauls harder on the bay frame, then jerks back as the metal screeches and splits another finger-width. Dust pours in through the widening seam.
Honda Futaba
The door's done for! If we wait, they come through with the ram!
Akuma shifts aside at the last instant, not retreating so much as making room. The path to the bay door is open, if Kantorou takes it.
“Akuma.. when im healed and stronger I want to face you again.. I will surpass you. for now can you fight with us. *Kantorou pleads as she walks outside*”
FAILURE (Fair Diplomacy, rolled -1)

Kantorou Mashashiba
Akuma... when I'm healed and stronger, I want to face you again. I'll surpass you. For now, can you fight with us?
Kantorou starts toward the bay, but the words hang in the dust and sour the air instead of landing cleanly.

Akuma
Your battle hunger is plain. Your judgment is not. I do not fight beside cowards fleeing through doors.

Akira
Boss, forget him! The ram's getting through, now!
A metallic crack booms from the bay seam. The door buckles inward another inch, and daylight knifes across the floor between shattered glass and bootprints.
Honda Futaba
They're coming in! Move, or we lose the whole bay!

Akuma
Run, Kantorou Mashashiba. If you are worth meeting again, prove you can survive the night.

“Akuma.. when im healed and stronger I want to face you again.. I will surpass you. for now can you fight with us. *Kantorou pleads as she walks outside*”
FAILURE (Fair Diplomacy, rolled +2)
Akuma is already moving, not forward into the fight, but sideways toward the open bay, making Kantorou's answer feel like something thrown at a closing door.
Matoya grits his teeth and drives one shoulder harder into the metal. The seam shrieks, then spits a fan of daylight and rust.

Akuma
If you survive the night, come sharpen yourself on my fist later.
Honda Futaba
Boss, now! The opening's there, go!
The bay door gives another violent shudder. Dust pours in around Kantorou's boots as the floor tilts with the blow.
Akira hooks an arm toward Kantorou's sleeve, trying to drag him toward the light while keeping her body between him and the widening breach.
Outside, the ram hits again. The whole frame bows inward, and something heavy scrapes on the other side, close enough to hear men shouting through the metal.
“Akuma.. when im healed and stronger I want to face you again.. I will surpass you. for now can you fight with us. *Kantorou pleads as she walks outside*”
SUCCESS (Fair Diplomacy, rolled +4)

Akuma
Then live long enough to prove it. I will fight beside you, for now.
He turns toward the bay instead of the challenge, planting himself between the failing door and the gang. The ram slams again, and the metal screams.
Honda Futaba
Good. Move, both of you! I am not holding this roof forever!
Kantorou pushes through the glare and dust, and the widening opening swallows him. The warehouse behind him groans as daylight spills over bent steel.

Matoya Kaririba
Kantorou, go! Akira, with him! I have the door!
The frame lurches inward under the next удар, but the gap is now enough for escape. Akuma moves with Kantorou, not ahead of him, while the others scramble to cover the retreat.

Akira
I am on you, Boss. Keep moving!
Outside air hits like a fist. Kantorou clears the threshold into the alley, with Akuma stepping out at his shoulder as the warehouse roars behind them.
