The Black-Robed Bailiff

The castle gate court opens beneath a gray coastal sky. A middle-aged man in a black robe enters carrying a sealed iron tablet, Leebes’s crest stamped deep into its face.

The restrained gargoyle vampire is brought into sight behind him, conscious and weakened. Ordered red marks encircle his chest and limbs as freed coastal folk watch from the battlements.

The Gargoyle Vampire

The Gargoyle Vampire

The Queen has sent her bailiff. I remain bound, alive, and outside my former channels.

The bailiff stops before the Devil and raises the tablet without breaking its wax. Wind moves his robe while the castle’s liberated voices murmur beyond the court.

The Black-Robed Bailiff

The Black-Robed Bailiff

I carry Queen Leebes’s record. Give the final account of this seizure, so no later claimant can call the confinement unlawful.

The Black-Robed Bailiff

The Black-Robed Bailiff

Name the dominion taken, the harms witnessed, the protections restored, and the authority by which this vampire now remains in the Queen’s keeping.

The iron tablet remains sealed between them. The gargoyle vampire lowers their wings as the watching folk fall quiet, leaving the Devil’s account to determine the sentence’s lasting terms.

“"He claimed the coastal castle as an hq, he attempted to gather, bind and harm innocent beings within the castle and i halted his plot midway"”

SUCCESS (Legendary Reasoning, rolled +1)

The Devil

The Devil

He claimed this coastal castle as a headquarters, then attempted to gather, bind, and harm innocent beings within it. I halted his plot midway.

The Devil’s account crosses the silent court and settles into the sealed tablet. The castle walls answer with the freed voices of servants, beasts, and coastal folk.

The Black-Robed Bailiff

The Black-Robed Bailiff

The claim is recorded: unlawful dominion over this castle, attempted seizure of its inhabitants, and intended harm stopped before completion.

The Gargoyle Vampire

The Gargoyle Vampire

They severed my channels and released those I held. The account is accurate, though I did claim the castle as my seat.

The bailiff breaks Leebes’s seal and inscribes the account onto the iron tablet. Red marks remain fixed around the gargoyle vampire, while no thread reaches the liberated folk.

The Black-Robed Bailiff

The Black-Robed Bailiff

By your intervention, the plot was halted, the captives were restored, and the castle’s authority passed lawfully into Queen Leebes’s keeping.

The Black-Robed Bailiff

The Black-Robed Bailiff

The record is complete. This confinement rests on witnessed harm, interrupted intent, and the Queen’s accepted authority, not on an unproven accusation.

Leave the castle court

“"He is an echo of my father who he looks like and who actually owns the castle and is part of a large percent of arteris's making, my father of many, a vampire lord. Take care with him, he is not my father but as an echo of him holds alot of power"”

SUCCESS (Legendary Reasoning, rolled +1)

The Devil

The Devil

He is an echo of my father, a vampire lord who resembles him. My father owns this castle and helped create much of Arteris. Take care: this is not my father, but the echo retains considerable power.

The warning enters the court and the iron tablet records each distinction. The red lattice around the gargoyle vampire remains firm, but the black-robed bailiff studies it with new caution.

The Black-Robed Bailiff

The Black-Robed Bailiff

An echo, not the father himself, yet carrying a substantial inheritance of power. I will amend the record and prohibit careless handling.

The Gargoyle Vampire

The Gargoyle Vampire

Your description is accurate. I resemble the one whose authority shaped this castle, but I am not him. My strength remains my own.

The black-robed bailiff inscribes the distinction beneath the confinement terms. His seal-marked tablet now names the gargoyle vampire as a powerful echo, not the vampire lord whose ownership is asserted.

The Queen will be told that this prisoner may possess inherited or reflected power beyond his present restraints. His custody will proceed with guarded measures.

They understand that my likeness is not my identity, and that weakness would be a dangerous assumption.
