The Devil arrives amid a cavern drowned in red light. Behind him, falling stone seals the passages while molten rock creeps across the black floor.

Gensuik, with a heavy ridged jaw and amber eyes, a towering adult male dragon genie hybrid, stands over the ruin. Crimson scales frame a broad, horned face; smoky gold vestments coil around his immense form.

His voice rolls through the cave, shaking ash from the ceiling. Beyond the newly fallen rock, muffled cries and pounding reveal that others remain trapped.

Then Gensuik turns toward the newcomer. Heat ripples between them, and his slit-pupiled gaze travels over the Devil's vast horns, robes, and blazing orange presence.

The Devil's orange radiance spreads through the cavern, sinking into stone, molten seams, and the buried foundations of Arteris. The planet answers with a deep, tectonic hum.

For one breath, the red light around Gensuik thins. His claim falters as the world's own energy recognizes a greater presence, though it does not leave its native master.

Gensuik drives one claw into the black floor. Veins of crimson fire surge outward, not toward the Devil, but around the cavern's foundations, binding his authority to the land.

The command settles into the opened tunnels. Stone grinds apart, and imprisoned creatures rush upward through the descending passages into the cavern's red light.

Gensuik lifts one claw, then lowers it. The foundations reject his impulse, and the remaining bindings dissolve. Scaled beasts, pale burrowers, and ash-coated figures flee toward the surface.

The cost arrives in the Devil's scorched sleeve: the lingering backlash burns deeper, draining a visible pulse from his orange radiance before fading into smoke.

Silence follows except for retreating footsteps and falling ash. Gensuik remains beneath the cavern's wounded vault, no longer its master, watching the Devil with guarded suspicion.
