Dust shakes loose from the catwalk as Nikki hauls herself up beside Faith. Ahead, Rafe Velez sprints for the far end, half hidden by swaying light and smoke.

Vincenzo Capozzi
He’s boxed in. Keep him on the rail.
A burst of gunfire cracks from below. The metal grating rings under boots, and a hanging service light swings hard, throwing Rafe’s shadow across the aisle.

Nichole "Nikki" Capozzi
The catwalk narrows near the end support.
Rafe skids to a stop by the damaged support, one hand braced on the rail. He snaps his pistol up toward Nikki, trying to buy a second to get a clear shot.

Rafe Velez
Back off. This ends now if you let it.

Faith
Nikki, left side. I’ve got the angle.
Below them, Vincenzo keeps firing suppressive shots into the catwalk line, and Rafe is forced to flatten against the rail, caught between retreat and return fire.
“I shot Rafe in the head”
FAILURE (Fair Firearms, rolled -1)

Nikki fires at the head. The shot clips past as Rafe jerks down, and the bullet takes the rail beside him instead. Metal screams, sparks snap, and he ducks hard behind the broken support.
The near miss changes his balance. Rafe’s pistol wobbles low for a half second, and the catwalk light catches the sweat on his temple as he stares at Nikki’s lane instead of the open end.

Rafe Velez
You’re forcing this.
Below, Vincenzo’s fire punches up through the grating, driving Rafe flatter into the bent support. He can’t keep both angles covered now, and the far side of the catwalk is suddenly open.

Faith
Nikki, his hand dropped. Push left.
Rafe twists toward the damage in the beam, searching for the next cover point. Dust pours from the fracture, and the rail shudders under his weight.

Nichole "Nikki" Capozzi
The support is giving way.
“I keep firing until he's dead”
FAILURE (Fair Firearms, rolled -2)

Nikki keeps the trigger moving. The muzzle flash stutters across the catwalk, but Rafe folds tighter behind the broken support and the rounds chew only steel and splintered dust.
The beam answers with a violent shiver. A chunk of rusted concrete drops from above his shoulder, and the railing beside him bends inward from the impacts.

Rafe Velez
Stop. You are making it worse.
Below, Vincenzo shifts his angle and the pressure from under the grating forces Rafe to flinch away from the open lane, pinning him to the weakest part of the catwalk.

Faith
Nikki, he is running out of room.
Nikki’s burst finally drags Rafe’s pistol hand off line, but the shot line is gone with it. He jerks backward, eyes snapping toward the rafters instead of the catwalk edge.
The damaged support groans loud enough to drown the last echo of gunfire, and Rafe uses that split second to turn toward the maze above, one bad step from disappearing into it.
“I call out for him to surrender”
SUCCESS (Superb Willpower, rolled +2)

Nikki’s voice cuts clean through the racket, sharp enough to carry under the groan of steel.

Nichole "Nikki" Capozzi
Rafe, surrender.
For a beat, the catwalk holds its breath. Rafe freezes with his pistol half-raised, eyes darting between Nikki and the broken dark behind him.

Rafe Velez
You think that is an option?

Faith
It is if you put the gun down.
Below them, Vincenzo keeps the pressure on without advancing, forcing Rafe to stay pinned in the open lane.

Rafe Velez
He sounds terrified. Good. Terrified men make mistakes.
Rafe swallows hard, then lets his arm slacken a fraction, hovering between fight and flight as the rafters swallow his next move.
“I rush the catwalk before he bolts”
SUCCESS (Good Athletics, rolled +0)

Nikki explodes forward, boots striking the bowed grating as the catwalk shudders under her weight. Dust jumps from the rail when she snatches a balance point and cuts Rafe off before he can reach the rafters.
Rafe jerks back from the edge, startled by how fast she closes the gap. His pistol dips toward the floor, useless for a second in the squeeze of steel and fear.
Below, Vincenzo shifts his aim but holds fire, making the narrow lane even tighter for Rafe. The whole span groans, then stays up, just barely.

Faith
Nikki, now.

Nichole "Nikki" Capozzi
The rail is right there.
Nikki reaches the broken section first, putting herself between Rafe and the only open run he has left.
Rafe stops dead, trapped by her body in front of him and the drop behind. His eyes flick once toward the shadows above, then back to Nikki, waiting to see whether he runs, fights, or folds.
“I throw Rafe over the rail”
SUCCESS (Great Strength, rolled +1)

Nikki drives through the gap and hooks Rafe high at the chest, turning his balance with one brutal shove. He tips over the rail, arms windmilling, and drops out of the catwalk lane.
Rafe hits the lower side structure hard, slamming into the mesh and catching himself with a desperate grab. His pistol skitters away in the drop, clattering out of reach below.
Below, Vincenzo snaps his aim toward the fallen man, then holds it there while the distance and the angle make the shot a question instead of an answer.

Faith
He’s cut off.
The catwalk shivers under the impact, but the rail stays bent and the route behind Rafe is gone. Dust spills from the break as he scrabbles for a new hold, trapped between the open drop and the rattle of steel.

Rafe Velez
No, no, no... not here.
For one beat, the whole warehouse seems to decide whether he is caught on the wrecked frame or disappears into the rafters above. Then the gap swallows his last clean footing.
“I move for his dropped pistol and shoot him”
SUCCESS (Fair Firearms, rolled +2)

Nikki snatches the fallen pistol from the grated lower ledge and levels it in one motion. The warehouse below suddenly feels too open for Rafe to hide in.
She fires. The shot cracks through the steel hush, and Rafe jerks hard, folding back against the mesh where he loses the last of his balance.

Rafe Velez
Wait, wait, I can talk, I can tell you who paid me.
His plea drops into the dust, and Vincenzo keeps his aim locked on him from below, ready if Rafe tries to climb or run.

Faith
Nikki, he’s done. Don’t let him reach the rafters.
Rafe freezes on the broken frame, one hand scraping for a hold that is no longer there. The path is closed, and every eye in the warehouse waits on Nikki’s next move.
+ New Item Acquired
Rafe Velez's pistol
“"You're the top of the chain. You're also the weak link that breaks it" i say as i shoot to kill”
FAILURE (Fair Firearms, rolled -2)

Nikki squeezes off the shot anyway. The pistol bucks in her hands, and the round tears past Rafe’s shoulder, punching sparks from the far mesh instead of dropping him.
Rafe flinches flat, then sees the gap it leaves. His terror changes shape, from trapped to calculating.

Rafe Velez
Wait, stop, look at me. I know who set this up, I know names.
Below, Vincenzo’s aim stays steady, but he shifts one step to block the nearest ladder. Faith leans in, watching Rafe’s eyes instead of the gun.

Faith
He’s buying seconds. Make him spend them.
Rafe’s free hand creeps toward a bent support, and the torn rail sheds another drift of dust between them.

Nichole "Nikki" Capozzi
The ladder is the only clean line left.
“There's no one above Rafe, he's the boss this ends with his death”
SUCCESS (Superb Willpower, rolled +2)

Nikki shifts her weight instead of chasing the rail. She sights along the broken span, waits for Rafe to commit to the wrong handhold, then fires once more.
The shot cracks close, the catwalk jerks with the impact, and Rafe’s grip fails. He drops hard through the mesh and goes still below the broken beam.
For a beat, only dust and settling metal move. Vincenzo lowers his aim a fraction, not relaxed, just certain the hole in the structure is now a grave.

Faith
Stay sharp. If anyone else is up there, they just heard that.
A phone skitters against the lower grating near Rafe’s body, its screen flashing once in the dark.

Vincenzo Capozzi
Hold position. Nikki, eyes on the rafters.
Above them, the maze of beams swallows the next sound, leaving the question hanging in the warehouse air.
“I shoot to kill Rafe”
SUCCESS (Fair Firearms, rolled +1)

Nikki steadies her aim through the broken lattice and squeezes off a final shot.
The round lands true. Rafe jerks once, then slumps out of the fight, his pistol clattering away in the dark below.
Silence rushes in after the echo, broken only by dust drifting through the warehouse lights and the soft rattle of loose metal.

Faith
He is down. Stay with me, Nikki.
From below, Vincenzo angles his weapon toward the rafters again, reading the space for any other movement.

Vincenzo Capozzi
Nobody move. I want eyes on every beam.
A phone still glows on the grating near the body, its screen flashing like a tiny signal in the gloom.
