The warehouse swallows the doorway light. Rusted containers loom in rows, and a wet footprint trail cuts across the concrete toward the back office.

Faith lifts her chin toward the trail, one hand steady on her weapon. Vincenzo moves first, shoulders squared, taking the left side of the aisle.

Ahead, a man in a dark work jacket jerks upright from behind a crate, phone in hand. He freezes when he sees them, then shoves the phone into his pocket like it burns.

The Fixer

The Fixer

Easy. I am not here for trouble.

He starts backing toward a narrow stairwell, eyes flicking between Nikki and the two armed shadows beside her. His breathing goes fast, and his free hand dips toward his belt, then stops.

Faith

Then stop running and talk.

The man swallows hard. The trail, the phone, the way he flinches, it all points one way. This is the fixer, and the chase turns into a cornering.

I kick the man in his privates as hard as i can

Nikki lunges low, boot snapping toward the fixer’s centerline, but he jerks sideways at the last second. Her strike skims fabric and air, and the missed hit throws her off balance.

He folds a forearm across himself and stumbles back into the crate, eyes wide, breath punching out of him.

The Fixer

The Fixer

What is wrong with you?

Faith

Faith

Nikki, back.

Vincenzo closes the gap another step, gun fixed on the man’s chest, cutting off the stairwell.

The fixer’s phone slips from his pocket and skitters across the wet concrete, its screen lighting up with a fresh string of unread messages.

Nikki snaps the kick in again, but the fixer twists away hard enough to make her boot whip past his hip. Her strike thuds into the crate edge instead, loud and clumsy in the tight aisle.

The impact jars the stack. One box shifts, and the fixer flinches at the sound, suddenly less sure of his footing.

The Fixer

The Fixer

Stop. Wait.

His eyes dart to the lit phone on the floor, then toward the dark aisle behind him, where something deeper in the warehouse seems to have stirred.

Faith

Faith

Nikki, he is stalling.

Vincenzo shifts his aim just enough to block the phone with his shadow, and the screen’s glow spills across the wet concrete like a breadcrumb trail.

Under the messages, Nikki catches one name in the glare, the same contact thread flashing again and again. Whoever is waiting in here is not just watching the fixer, they are directing him.

I check the lit phone for the contact name

SUCCESS (Great Perception, rolled +1)

Nikki crouches and snatches the glowing phone from the wet floor before the fixer can lunge for it.

The screen lights her face, and the contact thread is plain now, a saved name with fresh messages stacked under it.

Not family. Just the handler.

Behind her, Faith shifts her stance, and Vincenzo keeps the aisle cut off while the fixer freezes.

The Fixer

The Fixer

Give that back. You do not want what is in those messages.

From the dark aisle, a faint scrape answers, like something moving deeper inside the warehouse.

The fixer stares past Nikki, fear overtaking his bluster, and the phone in her hand makes him look less like a hunter and more like bait.

The phone screen fills Nikki’s hands with a thread of fresh texts, each one shorter than the last, as if the sender is losing patience.

Nichole "Nikki" Capozzi

It is not a random burner. The handler is still watching.

One message blinks at the top, a location pin attached to a warehouse bay deeper inside, not the aisle they are standing in.

The Fixer

The Fixer

Put it down. That message is for me, not you.

Faith tightens her grip and shifts one step closer to Nikki, while Vincenzo angles his body toward the dark bay instead of the fixer.

Faith

Faith

Nikki, show me the name again.

Behind the crates, something scrapes harder in the darkness, and the phone’s glow reflects a second, unreadable line of text before the screen dims.

From above, the warehouse geometry snaps into view, crates, stairwell, and the darker bay forming a rough funnel around the four of them.

Nikki lifts the phone higher, angling the lit screen toward Faith so the name and pin can be seen at once.

Faith

Faith

There. That name again, and the pin is deeper in. He is not freelancing.

The Fixer

The Fixer

You should have left when you had the chance.

Faith

Faith

Then talk. Who is in the bay?

The fixer's shoulders collapse. His gaze drops toward the dark opening, and the scrape from inside answers for him with a long, ugly drag across concrete.

The Fixer

The Fixer

If I say it out loud, I am already dead.

You're already a dead man walking, now talk!

You are already a dead man walking. Talk.

The fixer flinches like the words hit him. He swallows, then jerks his chin toward the darker bay, giving up the secret in a rush.

The Fixer

The Fixer

He is back there. The one calling the shots. I never meet him face to face.

The Fixer

The Fixer

He keeps me moving, keeps me scared, and if I say more he will know.

The scrape from the bay stops. In the brief silence, the phone in Nikki’s hand buzzes once, hard enough to rattle her grip.

The Fixer

The Fixer

That is him checking. If he is quiet now, it means he heard us.

Vincenzo shifts toward the dark opening, and Faith angles herself between Nikki and the bay as the answer lands, ugly and useful.

I aim at the dark bay and move in

FAILURE (Fair Firearms, rolled +1)

Nikki lifts the gun and steps in. The muzzle wavers just enough to betray her, and the dark bay answers with a low metallic drag from somewhere deeper inside.

Vincenzo snaps his attention toward the sound, shifting to cover the lane instead of the opening itself. Faith plants herself closer to Nikki, blocking the easy angle to the aisle.

The Fixer

The Fixer

No, wait. That is not him coming out. That is him moving something.

The phone in Nikki’s hand flashes the pinned location again, this time farther back, near a side path hidden behind stacked pallets.

Faith

Faith

There, left side. We can cut around if he bolts.

The fixer recoils at the glow, then points with a shaking hand toward the pallet corridor, as if the warehouse itself has just given up its second mouth.

Vincenzo Capozzi

Vincenzo Capozzi

He is trying to lead us. Nikki, check that path, but keep him where he is.

Nikki slips wide with Faith, hugging the pallets instead of the open lane. Their shoes barely whisper on the wet concrete as the phone pin pulls them into the side route.

The corridor tightens between stacked wood and shrink wrap. Ahead, a gap opens into a darker service pocket, hidden from the main bay.

Faith

Faith

I have your back. Go.

Nikki cuts the corner cleanly, and the handler's hiding place comes into view from the flank, not the front.

The Fixer

The Fixer

No, no, no... they are behind me now.

Vincenzo holds the original line, forcing the bay to stay boxed in while the hidden route opens under Nikki and Faith's angle.

The phone in Nikki's hand steadies on the deeper pin, its glow fixed on the passage ahead. Somewhere inside that pocket, movement shifts again, waiting for them to commit.

I call out for the handler to show himself

Nikki calls out into the dark pocket, her voice cutting across the pallets.

The answer is only a scrape and a shuffle, deeper in, as if someone shifts their weight and listens instead of stepping out.

The Fixer

The Fixer

Don’t make me talk. He hears everything.

Faith tightens her angle beside Nikki, and Vincenzo keeps the bay sealed off behind them.

The Fixer

The Fixer

If I say his name, I’m dead.

The phone in Nikki’s hand flickers on the same deeper pin, then the signal jerks one aisle farther back, as if someone is moving away from their reach.

Above them, the warehouse layout suddenly matters, lanes and shadows lined up like a map that leads somewhere hidden. The choice now is no longer whether the handler is here, but whether the path they’re following is meant to lead them into him.

Say his name right now!

SUCCESS (Great Willpower, rolled +1)

Name him.

The Fixer

The Fixer

Rafe. Rafe Velez.

The Fixer

The Fixer

He swallows hard, eyes fixed on Nikki’s phone.

The name lands in the cramped pallet pocket, and the Fixer’s shoulders collapse as if the word itself cost him.

Faith shifts closer to Nikki, keeping the angle tight, while Vincenzo stays posted at the bay mouth, listening for anything moving behind the stacks.

The phone screen still glows in Nikki’s hand, the pin fixed deeper in the warehouse, but now the target has a face and a name.

The Fixer

The Fixer

He’s not alone in here. That’s all I’m saying.

Is Rafe Velez in the warehouse?

A sudden, sharp metallic clang echoes from the rafters directly above the central bay, followed by the distinct sound of heavy boots hitting concrete.

He is still here, and he is moving toward the catwalks.

The Fixer

The Fixer

That is him. Rafe doesn't like being cornered, and he definitely doesn't like being followed.

Above them, the boots stop. A shape shifts along the catwalk, and the metal grating answers with a soft creak.

Rafe Velez

Rafe Velez

You should have stayed out of this part of the building.

Faith tightens her stance beside Nikki, and Vincenzo angles his weapon higher, keeping the aisle and the overhead shadow both in play.

Nikki fires from the aisle, and the shot snaps up into iron and shadow instead of flesh. Sparks spit off the catwalk support, and Rafe jerks back from the rail.

Rafe Velez

Too slow.

He slides out of the line of fire, but the motion exposes a hanging service light and the narrow ladder beside it, both within reach.

The Fixer

The Fixer

He is moving. He is actually moving.

Faith shifts one step closer to Nikki, keeping her gun up, while Vincenzo tracks the catwalk instead of the dark aisle.

Faith

Faith

He knows this layout. Nikki, look at the ladder.

Above them, something metal scrapes again, but now it sounds like a retreat, not an ambush. Rafe is giving ground toward the deeper aisles.
