Taled kills his forward step and snaps a hand up, half-turning toward the speaker grille. The small control room is lit by sickly panel glow and drifting smoke, with Kay at his shoulder and the broken corridor breathing dust behind them.

The Yakuza Commander
Taled. Status report. Where is the package Kay is carrying?
The voice comes through clean, almost amused. Taled’s grip tightens, his weapon hovering just shy of a draw while the room speakers spit static.

Taled
That voice... no. Somebody is using it.
Smoke churns across the ceiling as the corridor behind the machine stays briefly clear, like the building itself is holding its breath. Kay stands in the open with the dead end at his back and nowhere to vanish to.

The Yakuza Commander
Answer now, or I assume you are both still useful to me.
Taled shifts his stance, ready to spring either at the speakers or the door, while the control room hums under the weight of the trap closing in.

Confront the voice in the speakers
“Taled shouts at the speaker: "Shut the fuck up!!!" Taled fires into the speaker, causing the cylinder to click—signaling the final round.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Firearms, rolled -2)

Kay
Shut up!
Kay snaps the Mac 10 up and hammers the speaker grille. The voice cuts off in a burst of static, and the control room goes strangely thin without it.
A dry click follows. The weapon settles on its last round.

Taled
Good. Now it knows we heard it.
Smoke rolls low over the cracked console bank. The wall speaker hangs dead, one corner shredded, while dust shakes loose from the doorway behind the broken machine.
Taled squares up beside Kay, not relaxing, just widening the angle between them and the room's exits.

The Yakuza Commander
You just spent your last round on my voice. Bold. Stupid, too.
