They cross the service lane with the fallback route visible behind them. The Science building rises ahead, its dark windows reflecting the hard afternoon light and revealing nothing inside.

This is the first place we are clearing, not just searching. I need to stay useful, careful, and ready to retreat when Charlie signals.
