[REMAKE] Invasion on the Southern Shores

Hades leads Ares and Thanatos from the palace through descending halls toward the gate overlooking Tartarus. Cerberus follows close behind, each head turned toward the sealed vessel left in Thanatos's keeping.

The pale seal beneath the palace remains unbroken, but a thin black line climbs the ancient threshold, pulsing faintly as it disappears into the abyss below.

Hades raises one hand, and pale fire gathers along the threshold. The black line recoils from the light, then presses forward again with quiet, patient force.

Hades reaches beneath his cloak, then stops. No shadow gathers around his hand; the legendary Helm of Darkness is not with him, nor anywhere in the palace armory.

The black line suddenly splits across the threshold. Pale fire gutters, and a second pulse answers from inside Tartarus, nearer than before.

Cerberus bares all three sets of teeth. The central head snaps toward the palace behind them, where the sealed vessel trembles in Thanatos's keeping.

Ares turns and rushes with Thanatos through the descending halls. The vessel’s trembling grows louder, each hollow pulse echoing beneath the palace stones.

His wounded shoulder tears open beneath the bandage as he reaches the chamber, blood darkening the linen. He does not slow.

Ares plants himself over the funerary vessel beside Thanatos, shielding it with his body. The trembling vessel settles beneath their joined shadow.

Black light presses through the sealed traces and strikes Ares’s forearm, leaving a cold, branching mark before Thanatos cuts the contact away.

Cerberus turns all three heads toward Ares. The central head lowers beside the vessel, while the other two fix upon the trembling black traces.

Cerberus plants his paws around the vessel, forming a living ward. Its trembling stills completely beneath his growl, and the black light withdraws from the sealed traces.

Hades raises pale fire along the chamber walls and leads them toward the threshold. Behind them, Cerberus remains motionless over the vessel as the darkness below answers their approach.

Hades’s pale fire traces the threshold, revealing the black line winding around his seal toward a deeper fracture in Tartarus. Something below is pulling at ancient restraints.

The threshold answers with a deep metallic groan. A hairline crack opens through the pale seal, and a burst of cold black force strikes Thanatos’s side, driving him to one knee.

Beyond the fractured threshold, chains begin to toll in the abyss, one after another. The sound travels upward, and something enormous answers from the dark.

Ares descends with Hades and Thanatos through the fractured threshold. Pale fire clings to the walls, illuminating ancient stairs that wind beneath Tartarus’s gate.

The deeper they go, the colder the air becomes. Chains toll in the darkness, their iron voices traveling through stone like distant bells.

The stair opens onto a vast ledge overlooking a sunless chasm. Below, immense chains cross the abyss and converge upon a sealed figure wrapped in black radiance.

Hades raises his burning hand beside Ares, while Thanatos draws his blade of final passage. Together, they face the unseen force tugging at the chains.

Hades’s pale fire reaches the sealed figure. The black radiance peels back, revealing ancient bronze chains sunk into a colossal, motionless form.

The captive’s immense silhouette shifts beneath the radiance. Every chain answers with a violent toll, though none breaks, and the chasm fills with a pressure like gathering thunder.

A second presence presses through the darkness beyond the chains, its unseen force tightening around the captive. Hades plants his feet, and Thanatos raises his blade.

Ares braces beside Thanatos at the breach, shoulder to shoulder above the chasm. The unseen force bears down, but their joined resistance holds its reach away from the captive.

Thanatos drives his blade into the stone. Pale lines spread from its edge, catching the black force and pinning it against the ledge while the ancient chains fall silent.

Hades presses both hands toward the captive. Divine fire pours across the fracture, folding the darkness inward and binding it beneath layered bands of pale light.

The pressure vanishes. Hades’s seal closes over the breach with a deep, final crack, and the Titan’s bindings settle into stillness beneath the restored radiance.
