The ritual core gutters low, and the cavern answers with a long, terrible groan. Dust rains from the bioluminescent vault. Through the split spine of black iron, a hidden conduit glows like a wound.
Gareth braces himself beside the broken frame, blade up, eyes tracking the ceiling. Isabelle clutches the nearest stone pillar, calm but tense, while the mercenary captain stares at the widening crack above him as if deciding whether to run or kneel.

Mercenary Captain
It is done. I swear it. I will not help them again, just get us out.

Elowen Briarwood
The chamber will not hold much longer. The path out must be chosen now.
A fresh shudder snaps a ridge of crystal loose. It skitters across the floor, and the passage ahead flickers in and out of the falling dust.

Gareth
Rowan, lead. I hold this place until you are clear.

Isabelle du Soleil
Take the evidence, too. If this survives, so do the truth and our case against them.
Stone and light tumble around them, the hidden conduit still burning behind the shattered frame. All eyes turn to Rowan Stonecrest, the last safe route waiting for his choice.
Rowan Stonecrest leaves Bioluminescent cavern system in the Dragonspire Mountains behind and arrives at Dragonspire Mountains surface.
““Let’s go home then. All of us.” I take the evidence and leave now with my allies.”
SUCCESS (Great Agility, rolled +0)

Cold mountain air rushes in, sharp with pine and old snow. Rowan clears the broken threshold with the evidence in hand, and the cavern’s dying glow falls away behind him.
Gareth follows on Rowan’s heels, sword lowered at last. Isabelle keeps the bundle of proof close to her chest, and the mercenary captain stumbles after them, silent now.
Behind them, the mountain mouth exhales dust and a last spill of green-blue light, then settles into darkness. The hidden passage is sealed from sight by stone and shadow.

Gareth
We live, then. That is enough for tonight.

Isabelle du Soleil
And tomorrow, this proof becomes our answer.
Elowen steps out last, pale with exertion but steady. She glances once at Rowan, then at the dark mountain face, as if weighing all the roads still buried beneath it.
Rowan has the evidence. The others have the air, the dark, and a brief, hard-won pause on the mountain ledge before the long road home.

Mercenary Captain
My blade served the Circle once. Not anymore.

Isabelle du Soleil
Then let the proof stand where their lies cannot. Rowan, keep it safe.

Rowan Stonecrest
I will. Aurelion will know what they hid.
Cold dawn settled over the ledge as stone groaned shut behind them.

Gareth
We made it out. That is more than I dared hope.

Elowen Briarwood
Let the mountain keep its secrets now. We have better ones.
Rowan Stonecrest stood beneath the pale morning with the evidence secured and the Black Iron Circle's mask broken. The cavern was sealed, the dead ritual silenced, and the survivors carried only ash, resolve, and the weight of truth. In that cold light, the road to Aurelion began as a promise already half-fulfilled.
