Night settles over the cemetery as True Dave arrives. Cheryl Lee, Stella Nabokov, Taramisu, Yama, Dante, Kazeki, and Mikey stand among the defenders facing the dark route toward the city.
The defenders check flashlights, blades, and firearms between crowded graves. Beyond them, the streetlights of the threatened city flicker through the trees.
Cheryl Lee
Okay, everybody, stay together and keep your eyes up! We can get through this!
Then the opening bars of “Thriller” drift across the cemetery on the wind. Conversations stop. Every face turns toward the mausoleums.
Stella Nabokov
Oh! Is that music for us? It sounds like something is about to begin!
Stone doors groan open. Freshly risen zombies climb from the mausoleum shadows and push between the graves, sealing the route ahead while more figures gather behind the defenders.
Yama
The path is closed. Protect the living, and hold your ground.

Reach the city defense line
“I charge into battle lightsabers blazing.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Melee combat, rolled +0)
True Dave charges from the defensive line with both light sabers blazing. Blue-white blades cut through the darkness as he drives straight into the freshly risen zombies.
Yama
Make way! Let him through, and guard his flank!
The front rank of Freshly Risen Zombies collapses under the sweeping assault. The route opens between the graves, and the remaining undead stagger back from the flashing blades.
Cheryl Lee
That is how you clear a path! Keep moving, everybody!
True Dave
The blades pass cleanly through the undead.
Behind him, City Defenders surge forward into the opening. Taramisu raises her firearm toward the mausoleums while Kazeki and Mikey cover the cemetery sides.
Stella Nabokov
The music is still playing! Quick, before the next dance begins!
“I push through the opened route toward the city”
SUCCESS (Great Agility, rolled -1)
True Dave pushes through the opened route, both light sabers sweeping low as he passes between crowded graves and reaches the cemetery’s cityward edge. His boot skids on loose soil, wrenching his ankle, but he keeps moving.
The last staggered undead cannot close around him. Behind, City Defenders pour through the gap while the mausoleum music fades beneath shouts, gunfire, and hurried footsteps.
Yama
The route is open! Keep moving toward the city!
True Dave crosses the cemetery boundary and steps onto the dark city street. Flickering lamps reveal abandoned cars, scattered barricades, and distant movement between storefronts.
Taramisu
I have the street ahead covered. Watch those parked cars!
Cheryl Lee
Everybody made it through! Stay together and keep going!
The defenders reach the street behind him, forming a rough line at the cemetery entrance. True Dave’s ankle throbs, but the city route is under his feet and the group is moving.
“I advance toward the city defense line”
SUCCESS (Great Agility, rolled +1)
True Dave advances along the dark street, favoring his wrenched ankle while both light sabers remain ready. Parked cars slide past in the flickering light.
The city defense line comes into clear view ahead: City Defenders crouch behind barricades, weapons trained down the avenue as he reaches their position.
Taramisu
You made it to the line! Take the center gap, and keep those blades ready.
True Dave steps into the center gap beside the barricades. The defenders shift to make room, their formation tightening around the street entrance.
Yama
Good. From here, we hold the city boundary together.
Taramisu
Movement ahead, between the shops. Nobody fires until we know what we are seeing.
The defense line settles into a tense silence. Beyond the barricades, shadows shift between shuttered storefronts while the city waits in darkness.
