Feeh's Story - The Shattering of the Ford

The Pack-Bearer drops the ration sack and sprints for the valley exit. Mud splashes under their boots. Feeh’s attention hangs on the blade, half-buried and pulsing with sickly light.

The glow intensifies. Long shadows jerk across the camp, clawing at Feeh’s legs and the scattered crumbs at her feet. The sack lies open, its contents spilling into the dirt.

Feeh reaches down with one vast hand, scoops the sack up, and tips it toward her mouth. Rations, dried meat, and hard bread vanish between her teeth in a noisy crunch.

The Pack-Bearer stumbles at the slope, glancing back in terror as the blade’s light flares brighter behind Feeh. The valley mouth is still open, but not fast enough.

Crumbs rain from Feeh’s chin as she swallows and turns. The remaining survivor is right there, and the glowing blade keeps calling attention straight to the camp.

Feeh surges after the fleeing survivor, mud exploding under her feet. The valley seems smaller with every stride, and the bright blade is left behind in the noise of her passing.

The Pack-Bearer scrambles up the slope, but Feeh closes the gap in a few pounding steps, her shadow spilling over their back.

Feeh crashes into them from behind, driving them off balance. They pitch forward into the mud with a choked cry.

One huge hand clamps down, pinning them in place as they thrash. The survivor's sack is gone, the exit is behind them, and Feeh is already over them.

Their plea breaks under Feeh's grip. The only answer in the camp is the wet scrape of mud and the blade's cold glow still pulsing at their backs.

Feeh folds down over the pinned survivor, all hungry bulk and shadow. Mud splashes up as she seizes the Pack-Bearer by the waist and drags them closer to her gaping mouth.

Feeh bites down. The plea cuts off in a wet crunch, and the survivor vanishes into her grip and jaws.

Her throat works once, then again, swallowing hard as the struggle stops beneath her hand.

The valley goes very still around the giantess, except for the pulsing glow of the buried blade in the mud behind her.

A few scraps of wet cloth slip from Feeh's fingers and sink into the sludge.
