The ford buckles under boot and steel as the stronghold’s main line surges in. Broken riders and shattered shields lie behind them, but these soldiers keep coming, tighter and meaner, climbing the slick slope to meet Feeh head on.

Feeh stands in the choke of mud and stone, her greatclub raised over the stream. The mountain path narrows above her, a stair of wet rock and loose scree that favors the defenders for one dangerous breath.

Hold the bank! Drive her back, or we lose the road and the stronghold with it!

The Bell-Ringer

The Bell-Ringer

No, no, keep away from her, she will crush us all!

A horn from the ridge answers with cold certainty. More armored ranks are visible above the bend, descending in disciplined steps toward the ford, where the road to the hidden stronghold begins.

Feeh’s path is plain now, break this line and the mountain gate lies open, fail and the stronghold closes its fist around her.

Feeh fights viciously.

Feeh’s club comes down through mail and shield, and the front of the charge buckles. Men stumble into the stream, one guard vanishes under a rain of splinters, and the narrow road jams with bodies trying to climb over each other.

The line does not hold. It fractures, hard, as the soldiers behind it lose their footing on the slick slope and slam into the wreckage Feeh has made.

Close ranks. Push past her. Now!

The Bell-Ringer

The Bell-Ringer

It is breaking, turn back, turn back!

At the bend above, more helmets appear, but now they are forced to pause behind the crush. The road to the stronghold gate is still there, and the soldiers’ own dead weight is blocking their advance.

Feeh plants in the mud with her club low, while broken steel slides past her feet. The mountain pass feels smaller now, trapped between her and the wavering wall of iron.

For a breath, the elite guard wavers in plain sight, either they break clear and counterattack, or Feeh keeps driving them back into the ford.

Feeh keeps on swinging.

Feeh’s next swing hammers the crushed front rank again, and the guard wall spits men and splintered wood back into the stream. The slope above shudders as the column behind them loses its footing on its own dead, and the press of steel cannot find room to breathe.

The Vanguard Captain

The Vanguard Captain

She is driving us into our own wreckage.

From his cramped place in the broken line, the captain sees the road to the stronghold wobble between bodies and shields, still open but choked with panic. His sword arm lifts, yet the men around him are already giving ground.

The Bell-Ringer

The Bell-Ringer

They are falling, captain, they are falling!

Feeh keeps pressing, club rising and falling in the mud-dark light. Each blow forces another knot of soldiers to recoil, and the first true gap tears open in the elite guard’s formation.

The Vanguard Captain

The Vanguard Captain

Hold, damn you. Hold the bend!

But the bend will not hold. The men in front stumble apart under the giantess’s weight of force, and the captain’s line buckles sideways, leaving the mountain road exposed through the broken shield wall.

Feeh keeps swinging into them as long as they keep standing.

Feeh’s club crashes through the nearest shield knot, and the men beneath it fold into the mud and broken timber. The line’s shape disappears, leaving only scattered bodies, dropped spears, and a ragged lane across the ford.

The Vanguard Captain

The Vanguard Captain

Back, back, reform on the bank!

His command lands too late. The soldiers on the slope hesitate, then turn their shoulders away from Feeh as the pressure breaks them apart.

The Bell-Ringer

The Bell-Ringer

It’s gone, captain, the line is gone!

Feeh drives forward one more time, and the last men in reach stumble aside instead of meeting her. Mud sprays wide, but no one stays standing in front of her swing.

The Vanguard Captain

The Vanguard Captain

Fall back to the stones, now!

Below the broken shield wall, the road to the stronghold lies open through the wreckage, while the surviving guard recoils uphill in disorder.

Feeh heads for the stronghold, swinging at anyone in her way.
