Mumduos thrashes in the green-purple haze, choosing bulk over spellwork. His wings beat the fumes aside, but the sweep slashes his own muzzle, and he snarls through fresh claw marks. The mountain’s seam flares under his panic.

Mumduos
No, no, why will it not hold? What did you do to the air?
He lunges again, heavy limbs gouging basalt, trying to crush the distance between them. The failed magic has turned him wild, and every wild step drives him closer to the seam Huarti is meant to claim.

Mumduos
Stand still. Break, then. Break!

Huarti
His spellcasting is gone. Now he only has weight, rage, and the seam.
The Obsidian Dragon braces against the mountain pulse, watching for Huarti’s move. Above them, the torn portal gutters with heat as Mumduos lowers his shoulders for another brutal charge.
If Huarti stops this rush, the mountain’s soul stays in his grasp. If Mumduos gets past him, the seam may take the demon’s will instead.
“I summon a red obsidian throwing spear, hot as hell, charge it with lightning and throw it at the demon”
SUCCESS (Great Red electric, rolled +2)

Huarti’s lifted hand opens into a hard red flare. Heat thickens around his palm, and a red obsidian spear condenses from the fume, black-veined and molten at the edge.
Lightning crawls down the shaft in jagged threads. The spear brightens, hissing against the chamber air as Mumduos barrels straight into its path.

Huarti
The spear is ready.
Huarti throws. The weapon cuts a red line through the haze, leaving sparks that cling to the basalt seam below.

Mumduos
No.
The spear strikes Mumduos square and bursts in a crack of red electric force, throwing his charge off line.
He slams sideways into the basalt, wings twisting uselessly, while the mountain’s pulse answers with a deep, steady throb. The torn portal flickers hard from the shock.

The Obsidian Dragon
That is the kind of strike that holds a threshold.
“I point my hand and use devil's force to pin it and i vampiric bite it”
SUCCESS (Great Devils breath, rolled +0)

Huarti’s hand turns in the heat, and devil’s force drops like a hammer on Mumduos’s chest.
The demon freezes in place, pinned hard against the basalt as the mountain’s pulse rolls under him.

Huarti
Speak what I ask of the Obsidian Dragon.
Huarti closes in and bites down, his fangs taking hold as red force and stolen heat surge through the wound.

Mumduos
The pressure... it crushes. It drains.
Mumduos spasms once, then sags, his rage breaking under the bite while the jagged portal snaps and flickers behind him.

The Obsidian Dragon
That hold is a threshold keeper’s grip.
The chamber steadies around Huarti’s stance, the black-red seam glowing in a calmer line as Mumduos hangs trapped and weakened.
“I drain it till death”
SUCCESS (Good Vampir biting, rolled +2)

Huarti holds the bite and drinks deeper. Mumduos goes slack, his limbs losing their fight as the heat runs thin beneath Huarti’s jaws.

Mumduos
No... not like this...
The demon’s body jerks once, then stills. The last of his force drains into Huarti, and the mountain answers with a low, steady pulse.
The jagged portal behind him flares, then coughs out a broken ember of fire into its own frame. The spell collapses back on itself.

The Obsidian Dragon
That is a clean end.
Mumduos lies unmoving on the basalt. The black-red seam keeps its calmer line, but the buried will below the stone feels wakeful, listening.

The Obsidian Dragon
Speak your purpose now, before the mountain decides for you.
“I say, to make sure no evil is more powerful”
SUCCESS (Legendary Willpower, rolled -2)

Huarti
No evil rises above my order.
Huarti lets the thought settle like a seal. The black-red seam answers with a single calm pulse, and the mountain’s pressure eases under his claim.
The buried will beneath the basalt tugs once, testing the boundary, then sinks back when it finds Huarti already standing over it.

The Obsidian Dragon
That answer holds. It tastes of restraint, not hunger.
A warm sting flashes across Huarti’s bitten jaw, a cost from the strain of the binding. On the stone, Mumduos remains dead, and the broken ember in the portal gutters to ash.

The Obsidian Dragon
Then the mountain has a keeper who names its limits. That is rarer than strength.
The chamber grows quieter, but not empty. The seam, the corpse, and the listening dark all hold still, waiting for whatever Huarti says next.
“I cast mumduos drained corpse into the molten below making the corpse translucent and descending, transending into the molten deep below and ask the diety of the planet to take it”
SUCCESS (Legendary Arcana, rolled -2)

Huarti takes the dead demon by what remains of its force and swings it toward the lava trench. The corpse goes translucent at the edges, as if the heat is unmaking its claim before it sinks.
He releases it. Mumduos drops through the molten glare, descending without a splash, swallowed by the deep red flow like a verdict given shape.
Huarti turns his attention downward and sends the offering with it, a silent summons for the planet’s deity to take what is dead and mark the mountain clean.

The Obsidian Dragon
An old courtesy, to return a trespass to the fire below.
The basalt answers with a slow, low tremor. The black-red seam holds, but the chamber feels the loss of the corpse, and Huarti’s bitten jaw stings from the strain of the casting.
Far beneath the surface, something vast stirs once in the molten deep, then accepts the falling gift. The mountain’s heat settles into a steadier pulse, while the jagged portal’s last ember dies out.

The Obsidian Dragon
It is taken. Now speak your next law before the stone forgets the shape you have given it.
“I paige the hardest sun in space to take him through gaia telepath”
SUCCESS (Legendary Willpower, rolled +1)

Huarti turns inward and sends a telepathic summons beyond the caldera, naming the hardest sun in space and directing it toward Mumduos’s dead remains.
The distant sun answers without flame or voice. Its pressure arrives as a white-gold presence, piercing the molten deep and finding the corpse beneath Gaia’s accepting stone.

The Obsidian Dragon
You call a star to carry what the earth has taken. Bold, and fitting for a trespasser returned to creation’s judgment.
A narrow pillar of stellar force forms below the lava. Mumduos’s remains rise through Gaia, drawn upward without resistance, then pass into the sun’s merciless radiance.
The corpse vanishes completely. The hardest sun withdraws beyond sight, leaving a clean white scar in the molten dark that slowly cools to red.
Gaia’s deep pulse follows, accepting the passage and marking the mountain clean. The black-red seam steadies beneath Huarti’s authority.

The Obsidian Dragon
Taken through Gaia and given to the sun. The mountain remembers that answer, keeper.

“I ask if the obsidian dragon wants to take us elsewhere, i have no sudden place in mind”
SUCCESS (Legendary Willpower, rolled +1)

Huarti
Do you want to take us elsewhere?
The Obsidian Dragon turns from the cleansed seam. Its dark scales catch the cooling red light, and its wings unfold through the thinning volcanic haze.

The Obsidian Dragon
Yes. The mountain is quiet for now. I would show you where its breath first meets the sky.
The dragon lowers one broad wing as a living ramp. Heat rolls upward toward a distant opening, where a faint circle of starlight waits above the caldera.

The Obsidian Dragon
Come. We will leave the wound below to heal, and stand where Merllin can feel the heavens again.
Stone loosens beneath the dragon’s claws. With a heavy beat of its wings, it rises through the volcanic shaft, carrying Huarti toward the open night and the mountain’s high rim.
✓ Quest Accepted
Reach Merllin's high rim
“I hold on with electric”
SUCCESS (Legendary Agility, rolled -3)

Huarti grips the Obsidian Dragon’s armored ridge as it climbs through the volcanic shaft. Red electricity coils from his hands, locking his hold against the violent ascent.
The dragon’s wingbeats hammer hot air around them. Huarti’s charge anchors him securely, but the current bites back, scorching dark lines across his palms.

The Obsidian Dragon
Your grip is firm, sky-walker. Keep the current low, or Merllin will hear you before we reach the rim.
Huarti’s electric force steadies into a taut red web between his fingers and the dragon’s scales. The climb continues without loosening his hold.
The shaft opens above them. Cold starlight replaces the furnace glare, revealing Merllin’s black rim and the vast night beyond as the dragon carries Huarti onto the heights.

The Obsidian Dragon
There. The mountain’s breath meets the heavens, and you stand upon the place where it first remembers the sky.
