Unrok drives his shoulder into the cracked masonry again. Stone gives way with a wet grind of dust and mortar, opening a crawlspace just wide enough for a man to drag through. Above, the ceiling shudders, but the breach now points toward the surface.

The Archivist

The Archivist

You break my archive, giant, and still you think in exits.

The Archivist steps closer, calm as a clerk in a storm, eyes on the new hole rather than on Unrok. At the lip of the breach, the Scout stares down, alarm sharpening into hope.

The Scout

The Scout

Unrok, there’s a trap line up there, but this way might hold if we move fast!

The Wounded Comrade braces one arm against the broken floor, already watching Unrok for the cue to climb. Dust sifts from the opening in thin, falling curtains.

The Archivist

The Archivist

Take your injured and go, then. If you can manage them before the ruin seals itself.

unrok without hesitation makes sure his comrades get out safely and look to see if the archivist cares about the rubble falling around and say just in case "i can probably survive this if you can't let me get you out first"

Unrok lowers himself to the breach and sets one heavy hand under the Wounded Comrade’s shoulder, easing him toward the crawlspace while dust trickles over both of them.

That is it, there, keep low. The stone is still shifting, but the opening holds.

The Wounded Comrade gets one boot into the gap, then pauses only long enough to glance back at Unrok, waiting to be sent or dragged.

Unrok

Unrok

I can probably survive this. If you cannot, let me get you out first.

The Archivist

The Archivist

How considerate. Yes, I do care when my roof becomes a landslide. I also care when a giant offers help without asking for tribute.

The Archivist’s calm never cracks, even as a stone pops loose overhead. They step aside from the falling grit, watching Unrok with curious, unreadable patience.

The Archivist

The Archivist

Take the wounded man out. If the ruin chooses anyone to bury, it should not be the first one with manners.
