The floor shears away beneath Unrok, and he drops through a burst of dust and stone. He lands hard in a lower archive, among racks of mold-rimed scrolls and splintered shelves.
Above, the breach groans shut in jagged silhouette. In the dim below, a hooded figure stands perfectly still beside a table of chained ledgers, as if the fall was expected.

The Archivist
At last. I was beginning to think the trap had rusted shut.
The Scout scrambles to the broken lip overhead, peering down through drifting grit. The Wounded Comrade hovers behind him, pale and tense, waiting for Unrok to move.

The Archivist
Do not draw that great blade yet, giant. If I meant you dead, the stones would have done the work for me.
Unrok rises amid the scattered scrolls, armor cracked but standing. The archive’s lanterns sway on iron hooks, throwing long shadows across the hooded stranger.

The Archivist
You have broken into a sealed memory. Now tell me, Unrok, are you here for what was hidden, or for the one who hid it?
