Adventure of nyxous 1

The descending passage opens onto a narrow shelf beneath falling snow. Wind sweeps over the exposed rock, whitening Nyxous's dark feather coat and silver-flecked wings.

Beyond the ledge, fresh boot tracks cross the snow beside discarded climbing rope. They angle toward distant lanterns descending the mountain below.

The way down is steep and exposed, but broad enough for Nyxous if she keeps her wings folded. The shelf offers little shelter from the storm.

Behind her, the hidden passage remains sealed beneath the rubble wall. Pyros's belongings are still trapped safely in the chamber beyond, with no one beside them.

No companion has followed Nyxous through the passage. Only the wind, the falling snow, and the faint movement of lanterns below share the ledge.

Far beneath the shelf, a muffled call rises through the snowfall, followed by the creak of rope being gathered. The open descent waits before her.

nyxous leaves Snow-Covered Mountain Shelf behind and arrives at the settlement.

Nyxous lands beyond the settlement palisade as snow swirls from her wings. Warm lanterns glow among steep-roofed houses, while smoke and the scent of stew drift through the cold.

A watchtower bell gives one startled note. Villagers pause beneath covered walkways, their faces turned toward the large, scarred wyvern standing beyond the gate.

The gate warden, an elderly woman with a broad build, brown skin, and white braids beneath a red wool hood, steps into the lanternlight with a raised spear.

Behind the warden, the gate stands open to a torchlit square. A stable yard offers shelter, and fresh boot prints lead from the road toward the largest stone building.
