Adventure of Sapphire Stone-heart 1

Dark Shadow's arrival, a tall adult male figure cloaked in featureless darkness shatters the village quiet. Villagers run screaming through the lanes as Sapphire charges him, her silver sword flashing and her unbreakable shield raised. Jasper helps guide them aside, a teenage boy, but his piercing blue eyes never leave his fourteen-year-old sister.

Jasper's brown ponytail streams behind his red tunic and black cape as he ushers the fleeing villagers toward shelter. His cream trousers flash beneath the cape, and two black studs mark each ear.

At the square's edge, a path toward Krystal field village glimmers with unfamiliar fey light. Dark Shadow watches it instead of the panic, his shadowed form turning from the charging knight.

Steel meets sorcery in a burst of sparks. Sapphire's blade holds firm, while the magic beneath her skin stirs like a sealed storm answering the clash.

At the crowd's edge, a frightened villager raises one trembling hand, as though answering a debt that was never theirs to pay. Sunlight spills across the square.

The sunlight reaches the square fully. Dark Shadow recoils from its brightness, his featureless cloak twisting as he turns toward the shadowed road.

Dark Shadow dissolves into the deepest shade beyond the square, leaving only fading darkness and the sharp scent of magic in the sun-warmed air.

Jasper steps beside her, blue eyes fixed on the fey-lit path. Behind them, the village square settles into wary silence beneath the returning daylight.
