Ranuko opens the isolated survey bus diagnostics beneath the laboratory’s instrument glow. Nahuli watches from the system boundary while Kiryati maintains the physical separation around every recovered component.

The passive optical comparison is clean. The buried lattice offers timing, not authority, but its record can be translated into a local reference without importing the lattice’s behavior.

A quarantined trace unfolds beside the survey bus diagnostics. Its repeating intervals align with the laboratory’s sensor samples, while the optical link remains one-way and physically isolated from Amber Wing’s controls.

Then make the capability ours. No borrowed commands, no live dependency, and no claim that the source is giving us permission.

Physical separation stays in place. If the translation needs the lattice to remain present, it is not a shipboard capability yet.

Ranuko converts the timing record into a local calibration table, bounded by drift limits and a manual validity switch. The table can discipline survey sampling, but cannot address the lattice or steer the ship.

Ranuko

Ranuko

Local reference generated. It survives with the optical source disconnected, and every use will expose its uncertainty instead of hiding it.

The diagnostics settle into a read-only laboratory service. Amber Wing retains the timing method, its limits, and its audit trail, while the buried lattice remains only the source of the original observation.

Nahuli's turn

“Figure out a list of parts we may need to turn Amber Wing into a balanced ship.”

Nahuli lays Amber Wing’s power, navigation, medical, laboratory, propulsion, and defensive loads across the Instrument Bench. Advanced Technical Insight exposes the imbalance as a systems problem: strong peak defenses and survey capacity, but thin redundancy in distribution, cooling, and recovery.

He builds a balanced procurement list, assigning every part a purpose, isolation boundary, and installation priority. The Bench compares mass, power draw, heat rejection, maintenance burden, and failure consequences without connecting to ship control.

For the power backbone: two independently fused distribution panels, a shielded reserve converter, and a modular bus coupler. That gives us graceful degradation instead of one overloaded path.

Nahuli adds a replaceable thermal exchanger, two compact coolant pumps, and temperature-rated cabling. A second navigation reference, redundant attitude sensors, and a hardened data recorder protect flight operations when one instrument fails.

Add a medical power buffer, laboratory isolation hardware, spare actuator kits, and local diagnostic tools. The ship stays useful even while one section is being repaired.

The completed list also includes independent weapon capacitors, physical interlocks, structural mounting brackets, shielding panels, and standardized service connectors. The Instrument Bench totals the package within Amber Wing’s cargo and reserve limits.

Nahuli saves the ranked list with critical spares first, capability upgrades second, and convenience fittings last. Amber Wing now has a concrete path toward balanced power, protection, science, flight, and recovery without surrendering independence.
