The voice reaches Naomi diminished by stone, but its calm remains unmistakable. Another rockfall answers from above, closer now, sending pebbles skipping down the ravine wall.

The blue glow pulses faintly within the low opening, revealing damp stone and a floor sloping into darkness. Behind her, the ravine offers no cover except scattered rocks and the rising smoke.

She exhales and draws herself forward inch by inch, turning one shoulder, then the other. Her fox-fur armor catches against the rock, but the blue-marked path opens beyond her.
Naomi slips fully into the passage. A sharp ridge grinds across her scraped forearm through the armor, reopening the ache, while her feet find level stone in the darkness ahead.

“"Hnng! O-Ow..." I softly groan as my wound opens back up. There's no time to worry about that now. I need to get far away from this strange hooded figure. I continue to climb through the tunnel as my mind wanders back to my now dead tribe. "They're all gone... burned to ash, and I could do nothing to stop it."”

The passage suddenly widens into a dry ledge high inside the mountain. Cool air moves across Naomi’s scales, and a concealed crack behind her admits no more than a faint thread of the hooded figure’s distant voice.

Naomi reaches the ledge’s far side and finds a second tunnel descending into darkness, its floor marked by clean, undisturbed dust. The hidden route places solid mountain between her and the pursuit.
