Three dark pawprints smolder in the black root beneath Wolfpride, each branded with Kira’s distinctive crescent sigil. Violet mist coils below the ledge.
A wounded young adult woman emerges from the mist, a crow-eared pathfinder with ash-brown skin, close black hair, and a torn gray traveling cloak. Blood darkens one sleeve.
Sable Thorn
Do not step toward the edge. Kira passed below moments ago, and the bell woke the roots after she vanished.
Beneath them, pale roots push from the mist and curl upward, their surfaces glistening with cold light. Each new tendril follows the bell’s fading echo.
Sable Thorn

Far beneath the violet sky, the bell tolls again. The rising roots shudder, then climb faster, while Kira’s three burned pawprints flare toward the drop.
