GPO Ship 115 cuts through black space, engine glow washing the cockpit in cold blue. Ahead, the Big Mantra hangs like a scarred fortress, dark and silent until your hail turns into static.
The docking bay doors on the pirate ship start to cycle open. Warning lights flicker across its hull, and your sensors spike with fresh launch signatures.
Small craft pour out in a tight swarm, angling straight toward your intercept vector. Their transponders stay blank, their approach fast and disciplined.

Sion
Too many for a simple bluff.
On the forward display, a comms channel snaps alive through the static. A rough voice cuts in, strained but controlled.

The Dock Commander
GPO pilot, break off or be lit up. Big Mantra is under Freelancers protection now.
The swarm fans wider, trying to box you in before you can close distance or turn away. The first launch vector locks onto Ship 115.

The Dock Commander
Last warning. Stand down, or pick your poison.

“Sion calls out, “This is GPO Officer Sion. Identify yourself.””
FAILURE (Fair Willpower, rolled -1)

Sion’s call cuts into the channel, clipped and official. For half a breath, only static answers.

The Dock Commander
Sion. Not a pirate name, then. Good. You need to know this ship is mine to hold, and I am not handing it over.
The comms tone shifts, and the strain in the commander’s voice resolves into something tighter, almost familiar, like a pilot talking through a bad decision.

The Dock Commander
I’m not Freelancers. I’m the dock command they left behind when they split. If you want the Big Mantra safe, you stop them from docking here.
On the forward scope, one contact peels off from the swarm and burns harder than the rest, angling for the bay doors.

The Dock Commander
One of theirs is running the lock. If that craft gets inside, this turns ugly fast.
The commander’s channel holds open, waiting for Sion to answer or act.
“Sion replies, “Where is the Big Mantra ship now?””
SUCCESS (Good Reasoning, rolled -1)

Sion
Where is the Big Mantra ship now?

The Dock Commander
Locked in the bay lane, third cradle from port. I can see its drive fins from here.
The commander’s hand jerks across their console, and the target brackets bloom bright on Sion’s scope. A fresh proximity alarm starts up, sharp enough to sting the cockpit.

The Dock Commander
You asked, so take it. That breakaway is lining up on my doors, and I’m burning my reserve thrusters to keep the lane clear.
Outside the canopy, the enemy craft cuts across the swarm and commits to the run. The ship answers with a hard sideways lurch, and the comm channel crackles from the strain.

The Dock Commander
If you’re stopping them, do it now. I’m buying you seconds, not miracles.
Sion has the Big Mantra’s exact position now, but the commander’s engines flare red on the display and drain a sliver of the ship’s remaining cover.
“Sion goes to the location of The Big Mantra.”
SUCCESS (Great Piloting, rolled +0)

Sion eases GPO Ship 115 into the Big Mantra’s bay lane, dead center on the dock commander’s target brackets. The hostile swarm is still there, but the lane ahead is his now, and the station fills the canopy like a wall of metal and light.
The Big Mantra’s bay doors yaw open wider, exposing the cradle marked for the third port slot. Inside, dock lights strobe across the approach lane as the breakaway pirate craft commits to the same opening.

The Dock Commander
There. You’re on my lane. Don’t let that one land.
Reserve thruster glow flickers across the commander’s display, then steadies as they hold the station’s side of the approach. Sion has the destination, the lane, and the enemy in view at once.

The Dock Commander
I can hold the doors, but only if you keep the swarm off my belly.
The comm channel stays open. Ahead, the pirate ship angles for docking range, and the next move belongs to Sion.
“Sion calls out to the Big Mantra ship: “Hello. Is anyone reading me?””
SUCCESS (Good Reasoning, rolled +0)

Sion
Hello. Is anyone reading me?
The hail leaves his comm and the Big Mantra answers at once, not with words, but with a locked channel handshake and a thin carrier tone. Sion’s console tags it as live. The connection cost him a burst of transmit power, and the cockpit speakers crackle once before settling.

The Dock Commander
I hear you. Keep it tight, pilot. That ship is running hot and I do not want it on my dock.
On the forward readout, the pirate craft’s docking vector sharpens, while the bay lane holds. The commander stays on the line, voice lower now, less command and more warning.

The Dock Commander
If you can pin its nose, I can keep the station from swallowing the rest of the swarm.

The Dock Commander
He is still choosing to help. Good. That gives us a chance.
The open channel hums between them, clear enough for orders, clear enough for trust, while the approaching ship stays on course and the next decision hangs in the cockpit.
“Sion docks next to the Big Mantra.”
SUCCESS (Great Piloting, rolled -2)

Sion eases the ship into the Big Mantra’s side bay and locks it in place. The maneuver bites fuel from his reserves, but the clamp lights flash green and the dock holds.
Below the cockpit glass, the station’s outer seam begins to split. The docking ring is still open, but the Big Mantra lurches with a hard launch pulse.

The Dock Commander
They are burning the bay doors wide. If you leave now, they break free with the swarm.
The commander’s station readout flickers as the enemy surge shifts. Sion is in position, but the docked approach has pinned him beside a hostile launch lane.

The Dock Commander
Hold here, or cut in and stop that first ship before it clears the ring.
The cockpit vibrates under the station’s thrust wash, and the open channel stays live, waiting on Sion’s next move.
“Sion boards the Big Mantra.”
FAILURE (Good Athletics, rolled -4)

Sion kicks free of the clamp line and lunges for the gap, but the dockside field buckles under the station’s launch surge. His approach skids sideways, too late and too close.
The Big Mantra’s bay mouth yawns wider, then its inner shield flickers on. The opening that would take him in seals into a hard, blue wall.
His ship slams against the shield edge and shudders back into the lane. Warning lights bloom across the cockpit, and the bay path is suddenly a no-go wall.

The Dock Commander
It’s closed. Pull clear, Sion, or you’re dead in the throat of it.
Outside, the first pirate craft noses past the ring, now beyond docking range. The swarm keeps pressing in behind it, forcing the fight out into open space.
The comm stays live, and the commander’s station pings a fresh intercept vector. Retreat is cut off by the bay wall, combat is the only lane left.
“Sion backs out and calls out, “Big Mantra. Allow me to board your ship or I will engage your swarm.””
SUCCESS (Great Intimidation, rolled +4)

Sion
Big Mantra. Allow me to board your ship, or I will engage your swarm.
Sion’s ship eases back from the shield scar, holding steady in the lane. The commander’s feed crackles as the station answers his threat with a long, stunned pause.

The Dock Commander
...Understood. You have the lane. I am opening a boarding path now.
A bright service corridor blooms on Sion’s scope, carved through the station’s defenses. The commander also forwards a tighter firing solution, giving him the pirate craft’s weak port seam.

The Dock Commander
I did not expect a GPO pilot to sound that calm with a pirate swarm at his door.
The station’s pressure lights shift from red to amber. For the first time, the commander’s voice comes through less like a warning and more like an ally measuring the same fight.

The Dock Commander
Get aboard, Sion. Then tell me if you want the bay sealed behind you or left open for a clean shot.
Sion leaves GPO Ship 115 cockpit behind and arrives at Big Mantra.
“Sion takes his ship aboard as he says, “closed.””
SUCCESS (Good Agility, rolled +1)

Big Mantra’s docking throat looms ahead, a ribbed tunnel of steel and amber work lights. Sion’s ship cuts into it cleanly, nose aligned to the corridor marker as the bay seal grinds aside.
A burst of static snaps across comms, then the bay traffic beacon shifts to a hard green. The station accepts the approach and shunts pressure through the outer ring.
The pirate craft behind him is still on vector, but the opened path forces it off the immediate kill line. Sion has the lane now, tight and controlled.
Ahead, the interior bay widens into a hangar full of tether arms, yellow hazard stripes, and drifting maintenance mist. No dock crew is in sight, only the machinery waiting for a ship to commit.

The Dock Commander
Good. You are inside the throat. Hold that line and tell me if you want the seal behind you now.
Sion’s ship glides past the threshold without scraping, and the station’s guidance lights lock onto his hull like a net. The boarding route is secure, but the commander’s next call demands an immediate choice.
“Sion says, “Dock Commander, is the leader of the Freelancers here?””
SUCCESS (Good Reasoning, rolled +2)

Sion
Dock Commander, is the leader of the Freelancers here?

The Dock Commander
Not aboard this dock. Roma is in the swarm, and that makes her the problem.
The commander’s signal crackles, then steadies as the bay lights wash over Sion’s canopy. Outside, the hangar throat holds still, but the station’s frame trembles under distant impact.

The Dock Commander
If you are asking because you want her alive, you are already late. If you are asking because you want her ship, keep your nose pointed at the lead craft.

The Dock Commander
She left the dock before we could seal it. Typical Roma. Always moving when the money does.
A fresh burst of motion flashes across Sion’s scope, the pirate formation shifting to protect one central signature. The answer is not in the bay. It is out in space, with the swarm.
Sion leaves Big Mantra behind and arrives at the swarm.
“Sion says, “Damn it.” He tries to leave and follow Roma’s ship.”
SUCCESS (Good Agility, rolled +0)

The docking throat falls away behind Sion as the canopy fills with black space and the glittering scatter of pirate hulls. Ahead, Roma’s ship cuts through the swarm, bracketed by escorts that peel aside to let it run.

Sion
Damn it.
Sion yanks free of the bay lane, his fighter snapping into pursuit. The station’s lights shrink behind him as his new heading locks onto Roma’s trail.
A clean gap opens in the formation, and for one hard second the lead craft is exposed against the stars. The pirates begin to react, but Sion is already inside their turn.
His ship rides the edge of the swarm, close enough to read heat shimmer on the lead hull. The route out is there, if he can keep it from closing.
On the scope, Roma’s signature blinks brighter than the rest, tagged and centered.
The comm line hisses back to life with the Dock Commander’s voice, calm but urgent. "You have the lead craft now. Can you hold her long enough for us to seal the dock behind you?"

“Sion sends a signal to Roma’s ship: “Roma, this is Officer Sion. GPO. Do you read me?””
SUCCESS (Great Reasoning, rolled -2)

Sion keys the hail across the lead craft’s transponder. The signal punches through static, riding his own jink through the swarm.

Sion
Roma, this is Officer Sion. GPO. Do you read me?
The comm band coughs once. The reply does not come from the Dock Commander or the station, but from Roma’s ship itself, sharp and amused through a tight beam.

Roma
Well. You do have persistence. I read you, Officer.
A flare of relay heat ticks up on Sion’s console, a small cost for the clean ping. Roma’s craft holds course, but its escorts drift wider, listening now.

Roma
Say your piece fast. My pilot hates being delayed, and I hate waiting.
The Dock Commander’s channel stays open under her voice, quiet and ready, as if they are waiting to hear whether Sion can turn this hail into a conversation.

“Sion replies to her transmission: “Is this your swarm of pirates?””
FAILURE (Fair Willpower, rolled -1)

Sion
Is this your swarm of pirates?

Roma
Mine? No. I inherited the mess, same as everybody else who is still breathing out here.

Roma
The Freelancers split fast when the bay shield went down. Some stayed loyal, some started looting, and some just ran for any dock that looked soft.

Roma
If you want the truth, I am the one trying to keep them from tearing the station apart.

The Dock Commander
She is not lying about the split. Her channel traffic matches a fractured command net.

Roma
I can give you the bay codes for the rogues still trying to board, if you stop aiming at my nose for half a second.

Roma
So, Officer, do we arrest the pirates who broke from me, or do we save the dock together?
✓ Quest Accepted
Arrest the rogue pirates
“Sion replies, “Halt your ship, Roma. I am pulling you over and demanding you allow me to board.””
SUCCESS (Great Intimidation, rolled +2)

Sion
Halt your ship, Roma. I am pulling you over. Submit to boarding.

Roma
Her signature hardens on the channel, then steadies. She weighs the order, the bay codes, the split in her crew.

Roma
...Fine. Cut my thrusters to drift. I am not losing the dock over the rogues.
Her pirate craft noses off-line and the engine glow thins to a cold blue glide. On the scope, the fractured swarm keeps moving, but one clean corridor opens between Roma and the station.

The Dock Commander
Good. I am patching your bay codes into Sion's channel now. If he boards, he boards fast.

Roma
Fast I can do. Gentle is for people who still trust each other.

The Dock Commander
The commander exhales, relief edged with fatigue, while the station's tracking ring locks the drifting pirate craft in place.

Roma
Officer, you wanted me to stop. I have stopped. Now tell me, do you want the truth about who sold us out?
“Sion activates a barrier that surrounds both ships and allows him to breathe in space. Sion stands at the open door of his GPO ship as he radios to Roma: “Now open your ship door. I am boarding.””
SUCCESS (Fair Willpower, rolled +3)

Sion steps to the open hatch and triggers the barrier. A thin, shimmering field snaps into place around both ships, holding hard vacuum at bay while the two hulls drift inside a shared pocket of air.

Sion
Open your ship door. I am boarding.

Roma
Already unlocked. I am not making you crawl.
Roma's access seal flashes green on Sion's scope. More than compliance, her link packet pushes across with the bay code header intact and a second string riding inside it, an encrypted crew roster trail she did not mention.

The Dock Commander
Good. I have her corridor mapped. Move now, Officer.
Outside, the fractured pirate formation keeps fanning out, but the opening in their line holds. Roma's drifting craft sits exposed, door cycling open under station lock control.
The boarding lane is live, the air bridge steady, and Roma is giving Sion a clear path straight into the pirate ship.
“Sion boards Roma’s ship. Sion draws his laser pistol on her and says, “Hands up.””
SUCCESS (Great Intimidation, rolled -2)

Sion slips through the air bridge and lands hard inside Roma’s airlock, pistol already up. The muzzle tracks her chest as the red vacuum lights pulse behind him.

Sion
Hands up.
Roma freezes, then lifts all four hands slowly. Her jaw tightens, but she does not reach for any controls. The open inner hatch frames a narrow corridor beyond her.

Roma
Fine. You win the angle. Do not make me regret helping you.
A sharp ping follows from Sion’s wrist unit, his boarding seal confirms, and a second alert flashes amber, the piggybacked roster packet has started decoding on its own.

The Dock Commander
Boarding confirmed. Keep her covered, Officer. I am seeing names on that packet, and one of them is already flagged.
Roma’s eyes flick to the amber warning, then back to Sion’s pistol. The ship hums around them as the corridor lights shift from green to a tense yellow.
“Sion: “Ok. Now I’ll give you one chance to explain… You said these pirates abandoned your control?””
SUCCESS (Great Intimidation, rolled +0)
Roma holds Sion’s stare, then gives a short, bitter laugh. The corridor behind her stays empty, but her hands lower a fraction as if the answer costs her nothing and everything.

Roma
Abandoned? That is the clean version. The swarm split when someone sold the command net. Half my people thought I ordered a retreat, the others thought I was stealing the ship for myself.
She tilts her chin toward the glowing roster packet on Sion’s wrist, anger sharpening into focus. Her body stays square to the pistol, but her attention shifts to the names as if one of them might bite.

Roma
That packet will show you the rot. I did not lose control, Officer. I was cut out of it.

Sion
The roster is still decoding.
Over the comm, the Dock Commander stays silent, listening. In the yellow-lit airlock, Roma’s breathing slows, and she waits for Sion to decide whether he believes her or wants the name first.

Roma
Ask the right name, and I will tell you who turned the Freelancers on each other.
“Sion says, “Why were the Freelancers out here to begin with?””
SUCCESS (Superb Reasoning, rolled -1)

Sion
Why were the Freelancers out here to begin with?
Roma’s mouth tightens, then she glances past Sion toward the open bridge as if measuring the distance to the answer. The roster packet keeps scrolling on his wrist.

Roma
Contract work. Salvage escort, if you like the polite label. We were supposed to shadow a courier run and split the haul. Then the route changed, the call signs changed, and half my crew started taking orders from a voice I never heard before.
She flexes one hand once, slow and frustrated, as the yellow corridor light washes over the airlock deck plates. The open bridge behind her stays clear, but her stance softens by a hair.

Roma
That is why we were out here, Officer. We came for credits, then somebody turned the job into a trap.
On Sion’s wrist, the roster finally resolves another line, and Roma’s single eye snaps to it before she can hide the reaction.

Roma
Now ask me the name on that packet, and I will tell you who sold us.
“Sion says, “What packet are you talking about?””
SUCCESS (Superb Reasoning, rolled +3)

Sion
What packet are you talking about?
Roma’s single eye flicks to the scrolling roster on Sion’s wrist, then back to his gun. The bridge beyond her stays open, but she does not retreat from the threshold.

Roma
That packet. The crew roster the Dock Commander is decoding. It has a tag buried in the command net trail, something that points to the first pirate who flipped.
Her hand lifts, palm out, not surrender, just caution. The yellow lights catch the black paint at her mouth as she leans in a fraction.

Roma
Look at line fourteen. The call sign is cross-linked to a Freelancers relay code, not mine. Somebody on my side was feeding routes before the split.
The packet finishes resolving, and the highlighted name settles cleanly into view. Roma sees it at the same instant, and her posture hardens.

Roma
There. Kestrel. If you want the traitor, that is the name.
Her eye stays on the wrist display a beat longer than it should, as if checking one last detail the packet has not volunteered. Then she looks back to Sion, waiting for his next move.
“Sion: “Who is Kestrel?””
SUCCESS (Superb Reasoning, rolled -2)

Sion
Who is Kestrel?
Roma answers without looking away from the roster, her tone flatter than the emergency lights. "The name on line fourteen. The one that started passing route data before the split."
She taps the wrist display once, precise and impatient. The movement is small, but it leaves a faint red scuff on the edge of Sion’s unit, a cost of the close contact.

Roma
Not a captain. Not the loudest one. Just smart enough to hide inside the comm net and poison everybody else’s choices.
Her one eye narrows, then lifts to Sion at last. Outside the airlock, the station lights stutter across the open bridge while the pirate ship’s hull drifts in tense silence.

Roma
If you want the short version, Kestrel sold the route codes, and we all paid for it.
She folds her raised hand back toward her chest, waiting now, no longer guarding the answer. The airlock hum stays steady, and her gaze asks what Sion wants next.
“Sion: “Who else is aboard your ship?””
SUCCESS (Superb Reasoning, rolled -1)

Sion
Who else is aboard your ship?
Roma’s eye flicks to the side corridor, then back to Sion. The answer comes fast, like she has been waiting to say it.

Roma
Just me, Kestrel, and two deckhands who know enough to stay quiet. The deckhands are scared, not involved.
She draws a slow breath and lowers her hand from her chest, the tension in her shoulders easing by a fraction.

Roma
Kestrel is the problem. Not a leader, just the one who had access. Smart, slippery, and already halfway out of my trust before the split.

Roma
If Sion wants names, I give them. If he wants the truth, he should hear it before he decides who to cuff.
The airlock stays sealed, the yellow corridor lights wash the floor in strips, and the roster glows between them while Roma waits for Sion’s next question.
“Sion: “Kestrel is aboard your ship, now??””
SUCCESS (Good Perception, rolled -1)

Sion
Kestrel is aboard your ship, now?
Roma’s answer lands with a sharp tilt of her head. She points past the airlock toward the side corridor, and the roster glow catches on her fingers.

Roma
Yes. Still aboard. Not hidden well enough to fool your eyes.
She taps the deck, then flicks her hand once toward the inner hatch. A thin thread of tension remains in her shoulders, but her stance is steadier now.

Roma
I can take you to him, but if he hears us first, he bolts or wipes the net cache.
Sion’s wrist unit chirps as the roster refreshes. One line on the display flashes amber, and a tiny smear of sweat marks his glove from the pressure of holding the scan steady.
“Sion watches as Roma lights a cigarette. Sion: “Fine. Take me to him.””
SUCCESS (Fair Willpower, rolled +0)

Roma snaps a cigarette between her fingers and thumbs it alive. The ember paints her face in brief orange as she starts down the corridor, and Sion follows her into the ship's yellow light.

Sion
Fine. Take me to him.
She gives a short, humorless nod and moves faster, leading him past bulkhead seams and cable runs toward the crew section. The roster feed on Sion's wrist flickers once more, then steadies.
The airlock falls behind them. The corridor opens into a tighter junction, where the ship's layout splits around storage ribs and a low equipment alcove.
Ahead, a figure shifts at the far end of the hall, half-turned from the light. Roma slows just enough for Sion to catch the motion before the shadow notices them.

Roma
There. Kestrel.
Her cigarette hand trembles once, then she stills it against her hip. The glowing tip leaves a thin thread of smoke between them and the corridor ahead.
Sion reaches the junction with Roma, but the price of the route is immediate, his glove reeks of scorched filter smoke, and Kestrel is now in sight before he can slip away.
“Sion calls out, “Kestrel. Don’t move! We need to speak.””
SUCCESS (Great Intimidation, rolled +1)

Kestrel freezes under the corridor lights, then straightens slowly with both hands visible. Roma stops beside Sion, smoke curling off her cigarette as she watches him.

Sion
Kestrel. Don’t move. We need to speak.

Kestrel
He exhales through his nose and lifts his chin. "Speak, then. I am not running, if that helps your badge feel bigger."

Roma
Her one eye narrows at him. "Save the jokes. Tell him what you sold, Kestrel."

Kestrel
He glances from Roma to Sion, calculating. "So she finally picked a side."
The corridor goes quiet except for the faint hiss of Roma’s cigarette. Kestrel keeps his stance open, but his shoulders are tight, waiting for Sion to decide how hard to push.
“Sion takes Kestrel aside privately, away from Roma while she smokes. Sion: “What’s the story, Kestrel? You controlling this swarm of pirates?””
SUCCESS (Great Intimidation, rolled -2)

Sion hooks two fingers into Kestrel’s collar and steers him two paces down the corridor, just far enough that Roma becomes a smoking blur behind the shoulder lights. Kestrel goes with him, compliant but stiff.

Sion
What’s the story, Kestrel? You controlling this swarm of pirates?

Kestrel
If I were, would I be standing here getting dragged like cargo? No. I am the wrong man in the wrong place, and I know enough to make that useful.

Kestrel
The swarm is on a timer. Somebody fed them a dock rotation, then cut the clean exit. They want the Big Mantra bleeding and the Freelancers blamed.
He angles his body away from Roma, voice dropping. The move gives Sion the privacy he wants, but Kestrel’s metal arm gives a faint clack against the wall, a little louder than intended.

Kestrel
I can tell you who set the trap, but not for free. If Roma hears me say the name first, I lose my last leverage.
Roma’s smoke drifts past the bulkhead seam, and her watchful silence presses in from behind them. Kestrel holds Sion’s gaze, waiting to see whether the badge or the private deal comes first.
“Sion steps back and addresses both of them as he says, “Enough. Just tell me who is in charge of the Freelancers.””
SUCCESS (Great Intimidation, rolled -2)

Sion steps back and lets the corridor take both of them at once. Roma stays by the wall, cigarette ember low, while Kestrel squares up under the yellow strip lights and sees the badge on Sion’s chest instead of just the pistol at his hip.

Sion
Enough. Tell me who is in charge of the Freelancers.

Roma
In charge? Nobody for long. We had a chain, then the chain snapped. If you want the name at the top now, it is whoever Kestrel was answering.

Kestrel
Careful, Roma. You cut me loose, I can name the whole hand that fed the trap. Right now the crew listens because they are scared, not loyal.

Roma
And that is the answer, GPO. We are leaderless enough to fracture, but not enough to surrender.
Kestrel exhales through his teeth. The metal fingers of his right hand scrape once against the bulkhead, a tiny, sharp sound in the confined corridor.

Kestrel
You want command, look for the one moving the dock codes. I am not the captain. I am the man they kept because I made myself useful.
“Sion looks at Kestrel and says, “That’s it. Turn around. Hands behind your back.””
SUCCESS (Great Intimidation, rolled -2)

Kestrel turns when Sion orders it, the defiance draining out of his shoulders in one controlled motion. He shows his back, palms spread, and the corridor feels tighter for it.
Sion snaps the cuffs on. The first lock bites clean, but Kestrel twists just enough to make the metal scrape loud against his wrist and the wall.

Kestrel
There. You have me visible. If you want the rest of the crew to stay calm, you keep me breathing.

Roma
He is stalling. Check his left side, GPO.
The cuff closes fully. Kestrel’s metallic hand jerks once, empty now, and the scrape leaves a fresh mark on the bulkhead paint.

Kestrel
Immunity first, then names. That was the deal I came to make.
Roma takes a short drag on her cigarette, eyes fixed on Sion and the bound pirate. The yellow light catches the smoke, and the corridor goes very still.
“Sion turns to Roma next and says, “Turn around. Hands behind your back. All 4 of them.””
SUCCESS (Great Intimidation, rolled +4)

Sion pivots on his heel and levels the order at Roma. The cigarette pauses at her mouth. Her single eye narrows, then she turns, showing her back and lifting all four hands into the air.
He closes the distance in two controlled steps and brings the cuffs up. Roma does not fight it, only spreads her arms wider while the smoke curls around her shoulders.
The second lock clicks shut around her wrists. Her lower hands follow, palms together behind her coat, as Sion secures the last pair.

Roma
You move like you mean the badge. Good. The dock code in my cuff-ring is yours now.
A tiny access light blinks on the band at Roma’s wrist, exposing a fresh authorization tag beside the prisoner's restraint. Kestrel goes still at the sight of it.

Kestrel
Roma, you miserable...
Roma twists just enough to glance back at Sion over her shoulder, bound but steady. The corridor is now holding two prisoners, and the next move belongs to the GPO.
“Sion walks away with Roma handcuffed behind her back and Kestrel following behind them. Sion says, “Nobody wants to be honest… Noth of you get arrested.””
SUCCESS (Great Intimidation, rolled -2)

Sion turns the pair toward the corridor mouth and starts them moving. Roma comes first, cuffs high behind her back, and Kestrel follows with his jaw tight, forced to keep pace behind her.

Sion
Nobody wants to be honest. You both get arrested.
The words hit hard enough to stall them for a beat. Roma’s shoulders settle, and Kestrel’s protest dies in his throat as he glances toward the open deck access.

Roma
Then walk us to the cells, officer. Just do not pretend this is clean.

Kestrel
She says that like she is the one still in charge.
They move on. The scrape in the bulkhead slides past at shoulder height, smoke thinning behind them, while the cuff-ring tag on Roma’s wrist keeps blinking its borrowed authority.
A sharp vibration runs through the corridor plating from somewhere deeper in the ship. Both pirates stop at once, listening, waiting for the next door or the next gunshot.
