The generator continues its steady rumble as the Scientist and Medical Doctor secures microscopes, diagnostic instruments, sealed containers, and refrigerated supplies inside the convoy.
Scientist and Medical Doctor
The essential equipment is loaded. Keep the refrigeration unit level, and do not open the specimen cases until we reach the base.
Outside, infected movement thickens between dark storefronts and abandoned vehicles. The Elite Assault Troopers form a guarded withdrawal corridor from the laboratory entrance to the waiting convoy.
Elite Assault Trooper
Withdrawal lane established. Medical personnel and equipment move through the center. Escorts cover every intersection until the convoy clears the district.
the security operator
Base remains holding, Commander. The alerted movement is shifting toward the gates, but Security Teams still report intact barriers and active watch positions.
The medical team boards with the recovered equipment while the assault squads take the convoy’s front, flanks, and rear. The security operator stays behind at the laboratory radio, maintaining the base link.
Engines start, and the convoy begins its escorted return toward the fortified base. Across Grant’s glasses, the route display marks the moving vehicles and the gates waiting ahead.

“I order Security Teams to reinforce the gates and hold every approach. Convoy Move out”
SUCCESS (Good Leadership, rolled -2)
Grant Regenauer
Security Teams, reinforce the gates and hold every approach. Convoy, move out.
At the base, Security Teams drag fresh barriers into the gate lanes, brace the chained entrances, and occupy every approach. The convoy rolls away from the laboratory under armored escort.
the security operator
Orders received. All gates are reinforced, and teams are holding the roads, walls, and rear approach.
Elite Assault Trooper
Convoy moving. Lead and flank elements are clear, with the medical equipment secured in the center.
The convoy’s engines roar through the dark district, spending precious fuel and drawing infected movement from side streets. Troopers keep weapons trained while the route marker advances toward the base.
Scientist and Medical Doctor
The refrigeration unit is stable. Maintain the pace, and nothing in these cases will be compromised before we return.
Behind them, the laboratory falls silent except for the fading engine noise. Ahead, reinforced gates and fully staffed approaches stand ready to receive the convoy and its recovered supplies.
“I guide the convoy through the reinforced gates while jokingly commenting I wish we had a bumper sticker that reads Grass gas or ass no rides for free”
SUCCESS (Good Leadership, rolled +0)
Grant Regenauer
Convoy, through the reinforced gates. I wish we had a bumper sticker that read, “Grass, gas, or ass, no rides for free.”
Grant guides the convoy into the fortified entrance. Security Teams open the braced passage, then close it behind the last escort vehicle as engines rumble into the compound.
the security operator
Gate passage complete. All vehicles are inside, barriers are reset, and every approach remains covered.
Elite Assault Trooper
Convoy secured. Medical equipment and specimen cases are intact, and the escort has taken defensive positions.
Scientist and Medical Doctor
The refrigeration unit held through the return. We can transfer the cases directly to the protected medical station.
The convoy settles beneath the gatehouse lights. Troopers unload sealed cases and diagnostic equipment while Security Teams scan the dark streets beyond the walls.
Elite Assault Trooper
Base recovery complete, Commander. The laboratory route is clear behind us, and the operation’s supplies are secure.
