The Master's Ultimatum at the Courtyard

The toxic mist churns violently, swirling into a glowing vortex that anchors itself to the seal on Kenji’s chest. General Wei staggers back, his mace dragging against the flagstones as the pressure of the siphon pulls the vapor away from his control. A cloaked figure, Master Bai, emerges from the shadows of the apothecary rafters, ignoring the chaos to step toward Chun Li.

[Chun Li:0] The air is thinning as the boy drinks the poison. If you wish to save this village from the corruption, you must retrieve the Celestial Seal hidden within the Sun-Temple ruins before the sun reaches its zenith.

Trusting this stranger feels like walking onto a brittle sheet of ice, but the village has no other hope.

If I recover the Seal, you will swear to heal the Elder and banish this fog for good.

[Chun Li:0] Bring me the relic, and I shall cleanse the marrow of this land. Fail, and you will become part of the mist yourself.

Survive the ambush by Master Bai and the Assassin

The toxic mist suddenly ruptures, not from the wind, but from a strike. General Wei is sent skidding across the courtyard, his chest armor caved in by an unseen force. He drops his mace, clutching at his throat as black ichor sprays onto the stone. A masked assassin leaps from the roof, landing between Chun Li and Master Bai.

[Chun Li:0] The Master speaks in riddles, girl. The Seal was stolen an hour ago. We are all being played.

The General was fighting the fog, not controlling it. If the Seal is already gone, then this entire conversation is a distraction to keep me here while the temple is ransacked.

General Wei

General Wei

Chun Li You fool... the mist is not... a weapon. It is... a cage.

Master Bai

Master Bai

Chun Li Such a pity. I suppose we must clear the witnesses now.

Master Bai raises a hand, and the green mist begins to solidify into jagged, floating needles.
