Three weeks have passed. Beyond the ruined village, Ashen Manor rises from the thorn fields, its roof collapsed and its corridors thick with soot, frost, and listening silence.
In the cellar, Niklas stands before a black altar cut into the bedrock. The possessed captive waits behind him, motionless in a servant’s posture, his shadow pointing the wrong way.
A sealed cellar door fills the altar’s rear wall. Fresh handprints cover its wood, layered one over another, as though villagers have come here nightly to beg entry.

The Pale Presence
This was not a tomb. The masons built it to make vessels, and sealed their work when the making became unbearable.
The captive’s head turns toward the door. Outside, muffled feet gather in the snow, then stop together. No voice calls out, yet the fresh prints seem to multiply.

The Possessed Captive
They wait for the door to open.

The Pale Presence
Open it, and learn whether they seek salvation, or only another shape in which to suffer.

“I open the door as The Possessed Captive helps me take some of the victims to the altar as we spill their blood onto the altar dedicated to The Pale Presence "Let this sacrifice appease you, oh dark one, I Niklas Valburga shall see that thy bidding be done on earth, as it is in the infernal realms."”
SUCCESS (Good Strength, rolled +4)

Niklas wrenches the cellar door open. The wood gives with a deep crack, revealing a passage descending beneath Ashen Manor, where the gathered villagers stand waiting in frost-stiff silence.
The Possessed Captive moves at Niklas’s side and guides the villagers toward the black altar. They come without resistance, their faces blank beneath the cellar’s dead cold.
One by one, the victims are brought before the altar. The ritual dagger opens shallow sacrificial marks, and their blood spills across the carved stone without a cry.

Niklas Valburga
Let this sacrifice appease you, oh dark one. I, Niklas Valburga, shall see that thy bidding be done on earth, as it is in the infernal realms.
The altar drinks the offering. Black veins spread through the stone, and the sealed door swings fully open, exposing a second chamber lined with empty vessel-molds.

The Possessed Captive
The house accepts you. Those chambers were meant for many, but they have opened for one master.

The Pale Presence
Your offering is heard, acolyte. Beyond that door lies the first vessel that Ashen Manor ever made.

Establish the sealed cellar as a viable vessel-making site
“I drag the vessels into the vessel-making site putting them into the open coffins as the room erupts into darkness as The Pale Presence uses the captives as methods of release more demonic entities such as himself.”
SUCCESS (Good Strength, rolled +0)

Niklas seizes the villagers and drags them across the threshold into the vessel-making chamber. Their boots scrape stone as the open coffins wait beneath the dead, carved arches.
The Possessed Captive hauls the last bodies toward the molds while Niklas forces the nearest coffin shut around its waiting shape. His shoulder wrenches hard, and leather tears beneath his collar.

The Possessed Captive
Lay them down. The house remembers how to empty a soul and leave the shape standing.
Darkness erupts from the ceiling and floods the chamber. The villagers vanish inside it, then reappear as silhouettes pressed into the coffins, their forms held rigid by unseen pressure.

The Pale Presence
Yes, acolyte. Make vessels of them, and my kin will find the world through their mouths.
The altar splits with a sound like a breath drawn through stone. Several demonic entities unfold from the black seams, horned shadows without faces, reaching toward the occupied molds.
The final coffin locks beneath Niklas’s straining hands. His shoulder burns, but every vessel is placed, and the chamber answers with a widening chorus of inhuman breathing.
