The Final Act of Cleansing

Lyra channels the power of the carved artifact to activate the springwork beneath the drainage arch while the Ashen riders hammer against the barrier. Maerwyn and the Wound-Saints support Lyra's efforts, with the Saints finding a sense of liberation in their actions. Eris watches the situation with guarded urgency as the artifact begins to glow and interact with the land.

Lyra attempts to activate the springwork with the relic, but the energy misfires, causing frost to spread and the arch to crack under the pressure of the Ashen riders' assault. Maerwyn and the Second Wound-Saint urge Lyra to redirect the flow, while Eris warns that the path will be sealed if the light continues to spill incorrectly. The group remains under immediate threat as the barrier begins to fail.

Lyra successfully activates the font with the relic, causing the frost to melt and the barrier to stabilize. The Ashen riders' assault is muffled as the arch begins to flow with water. Maerwyn and the others observe the success with relief as the path forward begins to clear.

The crystalline waters of the restored font now pulse through the forest floor, washing away the lingering frost and the bitter memory of the Covenant. Lyra stands amidst the quieted ruins, watching as the land breathes again under the steady rhythm of the spring. The Wound-Saints have finally found their peace in the silence of the woods, their long vigil concluded at last. With the barrier sealed and the cycle renewed, she turns her back on the arch to walk toward a horizon no longer shadowed by the Ashen riders. The weight of the relic fades from her hands, leaving behind only the stillness of a world made whole.
