Trapped Beneath the Ash Gate

Lyra and her companions move from the spillway into a narrow drainage arch beneath the ash gate. They examine a mysterious, cold carved object while refugees arrive in a panic, warning that the Ashen riders are returning. The group is now trapped between the gate and approaching torchlight in the tunnel. Lyra uses her staff to create a magical barrier across the drainage arch, successfully shielding the refugees from the approaching Ashen riders. Maerwyn and the Wound-Saints take up defensive positions, ready to hold the line against the encroaching threat. The refugees remain huddled behind Lyra as the riders press against the tunnel mouth.
