Buer snaps a sealing charm into the passage mouth. The force wall blooms bright behind them, taking the guards' first rush like a slammed door.
With a quick twist of claw and tail, Buer hooks the stolen signet and the key free in one smooth snatch.
Alaric lunges after the demon prince, boots skidding on the wet stone, one hand clutching the prize as the tunnel swallows them.

Kaelith
Deeper. Keep low, the drain turns under the chapel.
The guards slam into the glowing seal, their shouts dulled to a furious roar. Lye stink and black water close in around the three fugitives.
Ahead, the tunnel splits around a rusted grate and a thin ribbon of moonlight leaks from somewhere farther down. Escape is now a race to the outer drainage.

“I toss kaeliths prize to her as we run threw the hall to the outer drainage”
SUCCESS (Superb Agility, rolled +1)

Buer’s wrist snaps as they run, and the iron signet skims through the air toward Kaelith’s waiting hand.

Kaelith
Good. Keep moving.
Kaelith catches the prize against her palm without breaking stride, the metal flashing once in the moon-silver gloom.

Alaric Vane
The tunnel narrows fast. If that grate is locked, they are trapped.
Water slaps at their boots as the passage bends, the rusted grate looming ahead with black runoff threading beneath it.
Behind them, the force seal shudders under a heavier and a crack of shouted orders leaks through the glow.

Kaelith
Buer, left or straight, choose now.
“I run straight casting a spell that will widen the grate for us to easily pass threw then snap shut crushing the guards”
SUCCESS (Legendary Arcana, rolled -2)

Buer slashes a hand through the air and the tunnel answers with a hard, hungry shimmer. The rusted grate swells outward, iron groaning as its bars spread wide enough for bodies to slip through.
The pressure snaps back at once. The grate slams shut behind them with a teeth-jarring clang, and a burst of force crushes the pursuing guards into a stumbling heap at the bend.
A sting of backlash flicks across Buer’s wrist, hot as a nettle bite, and the runoff splashes up to soak their hem and tail.

Kaelith
Careful. That bought us seconds, not mercy.

Alaric Vane
The left passage, then. Move.
Kaelith darts through the widened opening first, iron signet clenched in her hand, while Alaric drives after her into the darker branch.
From behind the shut grate, boots slam and a muffled order barks through the stone. The way forward opens, but the tunnel ahead is black and narrowing fast.
“I cast a light spell to see”
SUCCESS (Legendary Arcana, rolled +1)

Buer lifts a hand, and pale witchlight blooms between their fingers. It spills over the tunnel walls, turning the runoff into a silver ribbon and revealing slick brick, broken mortar, and a low arch ahead.
The glow catches Kaelith at the branch, her shoulders easing for half a breath as she spots the path, then tightening again at the sound of boots behind the grate.

Kaelith
There. Keep that light low, and keep moving.
Alaric checks the lit passage, then gives Buer a sharp nod and slips farther into the dark, his hand out as if feeling for the next turn.

Alaric Vane
If that wall ends in daylight, we take it. If not, we find another way out.
Ahead, the tunnel floor slopes downward toward a cold seam of air, where damp stone gives way to a narrow iron grid set high in the wall.
Behind them, the muffled pounding grows more organized. The light shows the way, but it also paints their shadows long and clear across the water.
“I cast a spell that opens pike pit in the floor behind us that is covered by a illusionary floor to trick the guards into falling. I then blast the great open and have every one climb threw into the opaon .ighy air and seal the tunnel behind d with magic shaping the stone to close the opening”
SUCCESS (Legendary Arcana, rolled +0)

Buer snaps the illusion into the floor behind them, and the slick stone turns false under the pursuers' boots. Shapes lurch in the pale light as the guards hit emptiness and vanish from view with a clang of iron and shouted curses below.
At the same instant, Buer hurls a bolt into the iron grid ahead. Rust bursts outward, the latch tears free, and cold night air punches down the tunnel.

Kaelith
There. Move, before they scramble up after us!
Alaric surges first, boots striking the broken grate as he hauls himself toward the opening, one hand stretched back to catch Buer if needed.

Buer
Stone dust, wet air, and a lot of room for one very unlucky guard.
Buer shapes the tunnel stone in a sharp, closing bite. The opening seals behind them with a grinding groan, cutting off the prison corridor and the rising racket from below.

Alaric Vane
We're out of the tunnel. Keep moving, and don't look back.
“We escape the prison”
SUCCESS (Superb Agility, rolled -1)
