Rose reaches the dorm with her belongings and finds the room door propped open. A young adult man waits beside it, tall and lean, with dark hair, a campus hoodie, and an unreadable calmness. The resident assistant, a young adult woman with cropped brown hair, a yellow cardigan, and a clipboard, stands nearby.
Nora Bell
Rose Night? Hi. I’m Nora Bell, the RA for this floor. Before either of you unpack, housing needs us to acknowledge the assignment together.
Evan Mercer
I’m Evan Mercer. I know this is weird. Housing told me this morning, so I cleared the left half of the room for you.
Inside, one side of the shared room is noticeably empty: desk cleared, closet space open, and a narrow bed made with fresh blue sheets. Evan keeps one hand on the door, leaving the choice to enter unhurriedly.
Nora Bell
The women’s dorms are full, and this was the only available room. You can ask questions, request a review, or tell me you both understand the arrangement.
Evan Mercer
There’s no pressure to pretend it isn’t awkward. I just wanted your half ready before you got here.
Nora lifts the clipboard, her compact build, oval face, and small beauty mark visible as she waits, waiting for the acknowledgment. Evan steps aside from the doorway, his warm brown skin and a small silver hoop in one ear visible in the hallway light, while the quiet hallway carries the muffled sounds of other students settling in.

Establish a workable shared home with Evan
“I step inside and inspect the space Evan cleared for me. Thank you for cleaed my half.”
SUCCESS (Superb Perception, rolled -1)
Rose steps inside and surveys the cleared half. The desk is empty except for a small campus map, the closet rail has room, and the blue-sheeted bed is freshly made.
Rose Night
Thank you for clearing my half.
The arrangement is more deliberate than necessary: two hangers wait on the closet rail, an empty drawer sits open, and the desk lamp faces the chair instead of the wall.
Evan Mercer
Of course. I figured having somewhere obvious to put your things would make the first five minutes less strange.
Nora Bell
That looks like a reasonable setup. Rose, do you understand which side is yours, and Evan, that the arrangement is shared housing?
Nora marks the clipboard after checking both faces. Evan retreats another step into the hallway, leaving Rose an unobstructed view of her bed, desk, and newly assigned corner.
