Loric melts into the broken shadow of the plaza wall. Above him, the crowd surges the wrong way, chasing ghosts through the exits while the altar sits bare and unattended.
The Spymaster stands at the plaza’s heart, sharp-eyed and still as a knife point, while a Cultist claws through the dust near the steps, searching for signs of the relic.
Loric slips around the outer ruins and comes back in behind the auction stones, where scattered coins flash between cracked flagstones and torn satchels lie open.

Loric
The rich man’s panic leaves the whole prize on the ground.
He moves low and fast, reclaiming silver, trinkets, and a purse forgotten in the stampede, each handful taking the auction further from the Spymaster’s grasp.

The Spymaster
Search the dark! He cannot have gone far with that thing. Bring me the box, and take anything else he drops.

A Cultist
There, at the altar steps, fresh tracks. He circles back, by the black stones!
Loric reaches the side of the altar again, wealth heavy in his hands, and the mob finally starts to turn toward the same place he wanted them to miss.

purse
“I began taking absolutely everything if I see an expensive looking magical weapon I take it I'm primarily looking for a bag of holding but I take every ring every coin every scroll every purse”
SUCCESS (Legendary Perception, rolled +2)

Loric works the altar fringe in a low, greedy sweep. Coins wink from cracks, a ring drops into his palm, then a scroll case, a second purse, and a dagger with silver wire on the grip.
He follows the shine wherever it leads, stripping the fallen satchels and the broken offering stones. A cold breath spills from the open amulet and crawls across the loot as he gathers it.
One split satchel yields a heavy little bundle wrapped in oilcloth. When Loric peels it open, a slim wand and two bright rings lie inside, beside a folded map scrap marked in gold ink.
Boots scrape somewhere beyond the altar. The Spymaster’s head snaps toward the sound, but his attention is tugged back by the crowd, which is still breaking apart in two frantic streams.
Loric fills both hands, then stuffs the smaller treasure into a pouch and the rest into a sack torn from the debris. More coin glitters under the dust at his feet, easy to miss unless he keeps looking.
A cultist lunges to the steps, sees the emptied satchels, and shouts for the others. The warning goes up just as Loric’s shadow falls over another buried purse.

“I'm looking for a magic bag something that can hold everything I've taken and more magically”
SUCCESS (Legendary Perception, rolled +1)

Loric hooks a buried bundle with two fingers and yanks it free. The oilcloth peels back in his hand, and the plaza dust gives up a fat, stitched bag tucked under the pile, its mouth cinched with a silver ring.
He tests the weight. The thing swells against him like it can swallow the rest of the spoils without complaint, and the cold vapor from the open amulet slides over its seams in pale ribbons.

The Spymaster
Not a purse. Not a relic. A carrying charm, of course, hidden in the refuse where only a thief would think to look.
Loric slips the wand, rings, map scrap, and the smaller coins into the bag. It takes them all, then more, its mouth widening as if the stash barely matters.

A Cultist
There, in the stones, he is taking the rest! Stop him!
Voices crack across the plaza edge, but the satchel is already in Loric's grasp, heavy with stolen shine and ready for more.

The Spymaster
He has found the hidden bag. If he moves now, the remainder of the auction spoils goes with him.

silver-ringed magic bag
“I quickly stuff all of my treasure in the magic bag and then I began taking everything else every weapon every coin every purse every Jewel every scroll I do so quickly with weapon in hand”
SUCCESS (Superb Agility, rolled +0)
From above, Loric moves like a dark knot at the altar’s edge, one hand braced on his weapon while the other works the magic bag open. Coins, rings, the wand, scraps of parchment, and small bright odds vanish inside in a quick, ruthless stream. The bag swells, then settles, taking the weight without complaint. The cold vapor curls around his boots and the scattered stones, but the loot is no longer spread out to be snatched.
He sweeps the remaining shine into the mouth of the bag, then strips the nearest purse and a pair of loose blades from the stones. The plaza around him looks emptier now, its scattered paths and fallen clutter exposed by the high angle, every easy prize pulled back under his control.

The Spymaster
So. He means to leave me with nothing but vapor and dust.

A Cultist
Cut him off! He is stuffing the last of it away!
The shouts skim across the plaza, but Loric is already past the main spill of treasure. The bag hangs heavy and sealed in his grip, and the altar steps no longer offer an easy grab for the watching figures.
Cold mist slides over the stones between them, thinning in the open air. The nearest routes to Loric are clear on the ground, but they now run straight through the space the others must cross to reach him.

The Spymaster
He is moving free with it. Scouts, find the edges. Now.

Fault Removed: Greed
“Unfortunately the spy Master is too much of a liability I dart towards him”
SUCCESS (Superb Agility, rolled -1)

Loric darts straight at the Spymaster, closing the gap in a burst of sand and steam. The high ground vanishes behind him as the altar edge fills the world, and the Spymaster has to pivot hard to meet the rush.
The Spymaster stumbles back one step, robe flaring, then plants himself before the altar. He is still empty-handed, but no longer calm. The cold vapor coils low around both men as if the stones themselves exhale.
Loric reaches him first, shoulder to shoulder distance, prize bag hanging heavy at his side. The nearest routes are now cut by their bodies, and the open plaza becomes a narrow ring of threat and stone.

The Spymaster
Bold. Foolish, perhaps. But bold.

A Cultist
Scouts, now! He is at the altar!
From the plaza edges, figures begin to move, drawn toward the clash. The Spymaster angles himself to keep Loric between him and the loot, while the mist drifts across their feet and hides the first steps of the rush.
“I quickly knock the spymaster unconscious using my bare fist and then I begin quickly collecting the most valuable loot in my magic bag”
SUCCESS (Superb Strength, rolled -1)

Loric’s fist crashes into the Spymaster’s jaw. The man folds sideways and goes down hard against the altar stones, his hands slack, his body still.
The cold vapor swirls over the fallen figure as Loric snatches the nearest glittering pieces from the altar, the magic bag yawning open to take them.
Above the plaza, dark shapes break from the edges and funnel toward the center, their path narrowing around the altar and the bodies at its base.
Loric’s hands move fast, gathering the richest spoils first, rings and bright metal flashing once before vanishing into the bag.

A Cultist
He drops the Spymaster, get in there!
The altar area is suddenly lighter, stripped clean of the best prize, but the moving figures at the rim are almost on it.
The nearest scout reaches the choke point as the vapor thickens low over the stones, and the open plaza tightens again around Loric.
✓ Quest Accepted
Slaughter the converging scouts
“I began fighting the scouts one by one and sharing each one of them falls permanently”
SUCCESS (Good Melee Weapons, rolled +0)

The first scout lunges into the choke point, and Loric meets him with a brutal, efficient cut. The man drops out of the vapor without a shout, his weapon skittering away across the stones.
A second figure rushes in behind him. Loric turns the movement into a collision, driving the scout back into the altar edge and sending him crumpling beside the first.

A Cultist
He is carving through them... too fast.
Cold mist clings to Loric’s boots as he resets his grip, the magic bag thumping against his hip. The nearest bodies lie still, and the path behind them clots with hesitant feet.

A Cultist
Left side, now! Cut him off!
Loric presses on before the ring can close, and the next scout falters under the pressure, struck down in the same narrow lane.
But the fight costs him, a blade rakes his forearm through the wrap, and dark blood beads on the stone as the vapor swallows the fallen.
“I keep cutting them down to the last one”
SUCCESS (Good Melee Weapons, rolled -1)

Loric drives the last scout back through the vapor, then keeps pressure on until the man breaks and falls silent among the stones. The choke point goes still, except for the scrape of a dropped blade and the wet hiss of Loric’s own breath.
Only one figure still moves at the altar edge, and the others no longer answer him. Their hesitation becomes retreat, then emptiness, as the cold mist curls over the bodies.

A Cultist
No, keep back. He has the bag, and the box.
The cultist’s warning rings thin across the plaza, but no fresh rush follows. The scouts have been beaten down hard enough that their line finally shatters.
Loric’s forearm bleeds through the wrap as he lowers his weapon a fraction, the magic bag heavy at his hip with stolen weight. The fresh silence makes the altar seem larger, and more dangerous, than the fighting did.

A Cultist
You’ve cleared them... for now.
The last scout is down, the choke point won. Beyond the mist, the cultist stays at distance, watching Loric and waiting for the next move.

Skill Upgrade: Melee Weapons Good→Great
“I listen intently for anybody approaching and I take a piece of cultist cloth and I wrap it around my wound”
SUCCESS (Legendary Perception, rolled +0)

Loric drops to one knee by the altar stones, listening. The plaza answers with only vapor hiss and a distant clatter far off beyond the ruins, nothing close enough to be a rush.
He tears a strip from the cultist cloth and pulls it tight around his forearm. The wound is covered, the blood slowed.
The cultist stays back, watching the knot form at Loric’s wrist. His weight shifts, uncertain now that the hunting line is broken.

A Cultist
You’re still standing. That means you want the rest of it too.
A cold curl slips from the opened relic somewhere in the loot, drifting over the altar like breath from a grave.

A Cultist
If the scouts return, they will come from the west steps.
The warning hangs between them as the plaza remains empty, for now.
✓ Quest Accepted
Hold off the returning scouts
“I shout out I'm taking everything and if you want to push me I'll take the spy Master too”
SUCCESS (Fair Intimidation, rolled -1)

Loric rises and throws his voice across the stones. The words crack through the plaza like a blade on flint, loud enough to carry under the vaulting ribs of the ruins.

Loric
I’m taking everything. Push me, and I take the Spymaster too.
The cultist’s posture changes at once. His half-raised hand drops, and his eyes go to the unconscious figure by the altar instead of to Loric’s belt.

A Cultist
You would drag him into this? He’s already half the reason the plaza is dead.
Cold vapor curls between the two men and over the spoils at Loric’s feet. The threat lands cleanly, and the cultist takes one careful step back.

A Cultist
Take your coin. Take your trinkets. Just leave the west steps quiet.

A Cultist
He can carry the blame if the scouts return.
His gaze flicks once more to the Spymaster, uneasy but no longer eager. The plaza holds, and the choice shifts to what Loric does with the space he has won.

“I began taking every last ounce of wealth the spymaster was hiding all of it and i stuff it in my magic bag”
SUCCESS (Superb Strength, rolled -1)

Loric turns to the spoils and works fast, emptying the altar’s last hidden weight into the mouth of his magic bag. Coins, rings, a wrapped wand, and the thin map scrap vanish one after another. The cold vapor slides around his hands as the bag swallows the lot.
The bag sags, then settles with a denser, richer heft. A few stray pieces clink against stone where his fingers miss, but the rest are gathered cleanly.
The Spymaster lies crumpled beside the altar, still unconscious. Across the plaza, the cultist keeps distance, watching the bag more than Loric now.

A Cultist
That is the last of it, then.

A Cultist
If the scouts come back, they will find only him.
Cold vapor thickens over the stones where the altar was stripped bare, curling in pale ribbons toward the steps.
Somewhere beyond the plaza, boots crunch on rubble. The cultist’s head snaps toward the sound, and the silence breaks.
“I quickly knock out the cultist that saw my face there's only one that I know then I pick up the spymaster put him over my shoulder and I disappear into the shadows”
SUCCESS (Great Melee Weapons, rolled +0)

Loric surges from the altar edge, and the cultist’s warning dies in the same instant it begins. His strike lands sharp and clean, dropping the watcher into the cold stones before a second breath can form.
Without slowing, Loric bends, hauls the Spymaster up by the shoulders, and swings the heavier man across his back. The unconscious body lolls once, then settles into a rough carry.
The plaza opens below the ruins like a cracked bowl, its steps and scattered shadows now his path. Cold vapor threads after him in pale strips, crawling over the bare altar as he moves.
Behind him, the cultist lies still among the stones, the face that saw Loric’s work no longer a concern.
The bag knocks once against Loric’s hip, heavy with stolen weight, while the relic’s chill clings to the air around his shoulders.
He slips into the deeper shadow between shattered columns, leaving the altar and the fallen watcher behind him.
✓ Quest Accepted
Escape with the stolen loot
Loric leaves skeletal plaza behind and arrives at the ruins.
“Using stealth I quickly leave the area with the spy Master over my shoulder and all of the stolen wealth in my bag and my weapon”
SUCCESS (Superb Agility, rolled +2)

The ruins swallow sound as Loric slips between toppled pillars, the bag heavy at his side and the Spymaster deadweight across his shoulders. Ahead, a collapsed arcade opens into a broken courtyard, all moon-cold stone and drifts of ash.
He keeps low, using a fracture in the wall as cover. His boots find the dark gaps between flagstones, and the relic’s chill breathes against the back of his neck.
A narrow passage appears beyond a hanging curtain of roots and rubble. Nothing moves in it yet, but fresh dust lies on the stones, recently disturbed.

Loric
The tracks are fresh.
Loric’s hand shifts his weapon into ready position as he threads the opening, keeping the Spymaster’s body tight and silent against him.
From deeper in the ruin, a low scrape answers, too controlled to be falling stone. The cold vapor curls once at Loric’s shoulder, as if something has noticed his passage.

A Cultist
There, the thief moves. Cut him off, before he disappears into the broken halls.
