The Archivist stops guiding Eden at the lip of the opened seam. Violet light lashes up from the floor, and they lift both hands, beginning an ancient chant that turns the air cold.

The channel of energy bends toward the Archivist instead of the lock. Dust rains from the ceiling as the seam widens, hungry and bright, and the whole underhall seems to listen.

The Archivist

The Archivist

You were never meant to close it. You were meant to open it.

The Archivist

The Archivist

I have known the bloodline’s design from the start. I have been steering you toward this threshold, to make Eden Siranteos the conduit.

The violet glow crawls across the Archivist’s sleeves like living ink. Behind Eden, the seal groans wider, still dangerously open, while Nazareth and Araneidan tense at the betrayal.

For one sharp moment, the truth lands harder than the magic. The Archivist is not unraveling the prison, they are trying to finish it through Eden, and the underhall shudders on the edge of release.

I reach into the heart of the magic and rip it out, crushing it in my grip

SUCCESS (Legendary Strength, rolled +2)

Eden drives her hand into the violet surge at the seam, and the spell bites back in a flash of cold light. Her numb arm locks, then tears through the current, as if she grips a living heart.

Eden Siranteos

Eden Siranteos

It is anchored here.

With a brutal twist, she hauls the heart of the magic free. The underhall convulses, dust pouring from the ceiling, while the seam spasms open and then begins to choke on its own failing glow.

The Archivist staggers back, their chant breaking mid-breath. Violet light strips away from their sleeves in ragged threads, no longer obeying them.

The Archivist

The Archivist

No, wait. That power was not meant to be severed.

Nazareth and Araneidan both move in on the instant, but the magic has already changed shape. It no longer gathers toward the traitor, only fractures outward in smoking violet shards around Eden's fist.

The chamber groans, then steadies under the broken pulse. The Archivist stands exposed, cut off from the seal, while the stolen glow gutters in Eden's grip.
