The biomod farm hisses under red emergency strips, vats shattered, corridors slick with coolant and dark slurry. Security drones spin in broken arcs, driven into a tight corridor of fire and static.

In the center of the chaos stands the wetware engineer, one hand buried in a remote interface rig, the other steady as a conductor's baton. Beside her, the cyber-psycho moves with brutal precision, not random, not rabid, but hunting.

Clint Runner slips out of the shadows at the edge of the kill-zone. The engineer's head snaps toward him, eyes widening a fraction, like she has just found the one flaw in her perfect exit.

The Wetware Engineer

You are not supposed to be here.

The cyber-psycho turns at Clint's presence, shoulders hunched, blades and chrome fingers twitching for the next move. The drones reorient, confused for a heartbeat, then begin to track the new target.

The Wetware Engineer

The Wetware Engineer

If you run, she kills you. If you stay, I might be able to point her somewhere else. Decide fast.

Kill the cyber psycho in the generator room

Clint Runner leaves Biomod farm behind and arrives at generator room.

I run to the generator room

Clint Runner hits the generator room in a spray of hot dust and blue-white arcing light. The air tastes metallic, and the floor vibrates under a cage of spinning turbines.

Ahead, the wetware engineer is already half turned toward an exit hatch, one hand yanking free from the rig. The cyber-psycho is in the same chamber, snapping around to track Clint's arrival.

The Wetware Engineer

The Wetware Engineer

There. He came alone. Cut him off.

The engineer's voice pulls the psycho's attention off the hatch. Her escape plan fractures in the same instant, traded for a kill angle.

The room is live. One wrong touch and everything bites back.

Clint plants himself between the generator banks and the two threats, his cybernetic arm catching the flashing spill of emergency light. The nearest drone slews toward him, red sensor eye widening.

The Wetware Engineer

The Wetware Engineer

If you can stop him, I walk out. If not, we all burn here.

The psycho lunges one step forward, and the generator hum deepens into a rising whine as the room waits for Clint's move.

I manipulate the electricity in the generator to fire a blast at the cyber-psycho

Clint snaps his focus into the generator grid. The exposed conduit answers first, then the whole room coughs with a white-blue discharge.

A blast tears across the floor and slams into the cyber-psycho’s chest. Their body jerks hard, skidding back through sparks and shattered grating.

The nearest bank overloads in sympathy. Warning lights stutter to amber, and a hot burst of ozone stings Clint’s faceplate.

The Wetware Engineer

The Wetware Engineer

No, no, no, keep it together!

She aborts the hatch, whipping back to the rig with both hands. The escape route stays open behind her, but her attention locks onto the failing system instead of the door.

The Cyber-Psycho

The Cyber-Psycho

Hurt. Anger. Find the source.

The psycho shakes off the hit and turns, smoke curling from their armor as they hunt Clint through the flashing room.

I blast him again this time with pure electricity to try to short circuit the cyber-psycho's cybernetics

Clint drives another surge into the grid, but this time the current comes clean and tight, crawling straight for the psycho’s implants.

The cyber-psycho convulses as the charge bites through their cybernetics. Their limbs lock, then judder wild, smoking at the seams.

The Cyber-Psycho

The Cyber-Psycho

Mine... stop...

A burst of static snaps from their chest rig, and they drop hard onto one knee, one hand clawing at the floor to stay upright.

The Wetware Engineer

The Wetware Engineer

If his systems collapse, I lose my shield.

She freezes at the console, eyes flicking between Clint and the twitching psycho, her escape forgotten for the moment.

The room holds in a vicious stutter, ozone thick in Clint’s throat, while the psycho spasms in place and starts to lurch back up.

I go to the cyber-psycho to extract the bio-heart, a cybernetic of extreme protentional

Clint slips in low while the psycho is still fighting the charge. He plants his cybernetic hand at their chest rig and tears free a fist-sized bio-heart module, wet with coolant and hot enough to sting.

The psycho jerks once, suddenly lighter, then slams a palm into the floor and starts to rise snarling. Sparks spit from the open cavity where the module sat.

The Cyber-Psycho

The Cyber-Psycho

Give it back...

Across the room, the Wetware Engineer goes rigid as the stolen core leaves her control window dead. Her hand snaps off the console, and the escape route she was nursing goes dark.

The Wetware Engineer

The Wetware Engineer

No, no, no. Without that, I am blind.

A hard pop cracks from the generator bank. One row of lights dies, and the room shifts into a harsher red emergency glow.

The bio-heart is out. It is still pulsing in his grip.

Clint throws the charge into the open cavity. The psycho locks up mid-rise, every spark in their torso snapping inward at once.

Their head jerks back. The glow in their eyes cuts out, and the body slams flat, twitching once before going still.

The Wetware Engineer flinches hard at the console, staring at the corpse like it might get up again. Her hand trembles over the dead interface.

The Wetware Engineer

The Wetware Engineer

No, no... you killed my only live test rig.

A thin alarm chirp starts up somewhere overhead, then cuts into a rougher warning tone as the room's red light deepens.

Clint still has the hot bio-heart module in his grip, and the engineer is backing away from the console with nowhere left to hide.

If you want answers, you need to decide fast.

I convince her to help in my mission to take over the world so I can fix it

FAILURE (Great Persuasion, rolled -3)

Clint lowers the bio-heart just enough to show he is not rushing her. The red light catches the wet shine on the engineer's face as she measures him, not the corpse, not the dead console, but the shape of a future she does not trust.

Clint Runner

Clint Runner

Help me take the top off this world, and I make room for people like you when it falls.

The Wetware Engineer

The Wetware Engineer

You say that like it's a promise. Out here, promises are just prettier handcuffs.

She clutches her rig tighter, then looks past Clint to the sealed bulkhead, calculating exits that no longer matter. The alarm keeps pulsing, but she answers more quietly now, voice stripped raw by fear and interest alike.

The Wetware Engineer

The Wetware Engineer

If you really want a world order, you need builders, not sermons. I know farms, implants, supply chains, and the people who keep them dirty on purpose.

For a beat, the room narrows to that offer. She is not joining him, not yet, but she is no longer talking like a cornered animal. She is talking like someone pricing survival against loyalty.

So tell me, Clint Runner, are you recruiting me, or just buying time before the floor gives out?

Clint lays the truth on the wrecked room, names the company’s dirty hands, the cut corners, the lives spent to keep the machine polished. The Wetware Engineer goes still as the red alarm washes over her, and the first thing she loses is her posture.

They did not miss a chance to bleed every floor of this place dry.

Her grip loosens on the rig. She looks down at it like it has suddenly become evidence instead of shelter.

The Wetware Engineer

The Wetware Engineer

I knew the margins were rotten. I did not know they were this rotten.

Clint keeps talking, steady and close, and the words land because they are specific. Names. Supply routes. Bribes. Disposal orders. The engineer’s eyes track each one like a ledger opening in her head.

The Wetware Engineer

The Wetware Engineer

That explains the missing shipments. The ghost inventory. The people who vanish after asking for repairs.

She exhales once, hard, then lifts her chin toward him. Fear is still there, but now it has to share space with recognition.

If I stay with them, I stay useful to monsters. If I work with you, I can help crack the whole rot open.
