The Rift at the Tower

Rain Horn camp lies under a slate sky, its hide tents dark with mist. At the edge of the central path, a crooked mage's tower rises from old stone, its upper windows burning sick green.

Kelina reaches the tower door just as the air tears open above the stair, spilling cold light and a smell like storm-wet ash.

A cloaked wizard staggers backward from the breach, clutching a bound spellbook to their chest. The book thrums once, and the doorway behind them ripples like water.

Stay back. This is mine, and the opening is hungry.

A pale shape presses through the rift, too broad for the tower frame, all claw and antler-shadow. The wizard tightens their grip, eyes fixed on Kelina as if she alone might decide whether this becomes a seal or a disaster.

If you want this camp standing, help me close it. If you want the book, say so now.

The rift widens another handspan, and the tower stones begin to frost at the edges.

The Rift at the Tower

Kelina plants her feet and drives her totem up toward the breach. Pale threads of force answer her touch, braiding into the wizard’s spellwork.

The Rift-Born Shape jerks against the narrowing tear, then slams into a wall of hardening light. Its shadowy claws scrape uselessly at the air.

Now, hold it there. Just a breath longer.

Kelina’s magic settles like a stone into a floodgate. The ripping sound drops to a thin hiss, and frost crawls back from the tower stones as the opening cinches tight.

The Cloaked Wizard

It’s sealed... for now.

The last slit of green light snaps shut above the stair, leaving only cold stone, drifting ash, and the wizard’s shaking breath.
