Tavren leans toward the central door, one hand raised for silence. Dust trembles at its threshold, while the other two doors remain dark and sealed.

If the central door responds to the pattern, it may be the keeper’s route. Or the prison has learned to imitate one.
A muted knock sounds from behind the central stone, followed by a second knock from farther below. The fragment’s warmth settles into a steady pulse, waiting in Davis’s hand.

The first knock sounds again from beyond the door, but this time the stone answers with a deep turning groan. Blue radiance spills through newly opened seams.

The central door folds inward without touching Davis. Beyond it, a descending passage glows with the same blue crystal veins, while the two marked doors remain sealed in darkness.

Davis instinctively takes Seris’s hand and keeps the fragment raised in his other. Together they pass beneath the opened threshold and begin down the blue-lit stair.
Tavren
I will. Keep moving, and do not let the passage draw your eyes from the steps.
Tavren turns to face the passage behind them, lantern lifted toward the sealed doors. Davis and Seris descend carefully, their joined hands steady between them.
A jutting stair catches Davis’s boot. He recovers without releasing Seris or lowering the fragment, but his shin strikes the stone and begins to throb.
Seris
I have you. The stair continues, and the blue light is stronger below.
They reach the lower landing together. The passage opens toward a round chamber washed in blue radiance, while Tavren follows behind, still guarding their retreat.
