The narrow stair groans beneath Adamos and Minsc as the archive caves in above. Dust and black water spill between the stones, chasing them downward.

“Keep moving. Whatever drowned Hyrule, it does not want us reading its account.”
The stair ends in a flooded vault. A bronze door stands waist-deep in dark water, carved with the red sigil and a crown split by three descending lines.
The clay tablet burns warm in Adamos's grip. New carvings rise across its surface, forming a diagram of the throne, the palace foundations, and a channel reaching into the sea.

“That is no record of a ceremony. It is a control map. The throne opened something beneath the palace.”
Beyond the door, voices echo through the water, repeating an ancient oath. The tablet answers with a final carving: the Oath-Bearer stood at the throne's heart and turned the crown toward Hyrule.
