Mu-Shi’s house welcomes them with open windows, lunch spread across the table, and game boxes stacked beside the couch. The chorus recording remains on Jordan’s phone, unposted.

Sazabi’s Mu-shi, his wild, spiky brown hair and beard framing a loose blue shirt, jeans, and scuffed sneakers, a large heavyset adult man with a broad frame and round face, adjusts his worn trucker hat and clears space among sandwiches, fruit, and cards.

Eat first. Then we pick a game. Then we figure out the song.

I can play the clip again, but the invitation is still only an idea. Nothing has gone public.

Jordan sets his phone beside the plates and starts the chorus at low volume. The subway rattle, Kiki’s rhythm, and Nemea’s melody fill the room while Stella remains elsewhere and Nemea stays in Union Square.

What would make this feel like an invitation, not just an advertisement?

The recording loops into its final bright phrase. Mu-Shi deals out cards, Jordan waits with his thumb near the screen, and lunch sits untouched for one more moment.

Name the song challenge in the post, not just us. People should know they’re being invited to add their own verses.

Right. The challenge is the invitation, and the band is the doorway into it. I can make that clear.

Jordan picks up his phone and opens a blank caption. Mu-Shi pauses mid-deal, one card held above the table while the chorus plays softly.

Put the name first.

How about: “Carry the Morning Verse Challenge. Add your verse to this chorus and share what the city sounds like to you.”

He types the title at the top, then adds the invitation beneath it. The post now points toward participation before mentioning any performers.

There. It names the challenge, explains what to do, and leaves room for other people to make it theirs.
