Luna and Lisa leave the working kitchen unnoticed, their borrowed caps and aprons still in place. Edric remains above, occupied near the ovens and unaware of their route.
Beyond the service rooms, a narrow passage bends between bare walls. A concealed trapdoor opens beneath Luna, while another gives way beneath Lisa, and both women drop into separate stone chambers.
Luna lands on cold flagstones as the trapdoor slams shut overhead. Her provisions, borrowed garments, and belongings remain scattered above, beyond immediate reach.
Through the thick wall, Lisa's startled movement answers from another chamber. The rooms are plain and dry, with no visible doorway, only a faint draft and old masonry.

The Soothing Voice
Stay here. You really want to stay here, don't you? Since you are getting very, very sleepy. So sleepy.

Lisa
Luna? I hear someone, but I cannot see a door. Are you hurt?
The soothing voice falls silent, leaving only the quiet pressure of stone around them. Somewhere beneath Luna's feet, a small latch clicks, waiting for her attention.

Director's notewhole tale
You begin to become sleepy but you are trying to fight it but it is so hard since your mind for some strange reason wants to listen to the soothing voice
“n-no I can't fall asleep I can't”
FAILURE (Fair Willpower, rolled -1)

Luna
N-no, I cannot fall asleep. I cannot.
Luna presses her palms against the cold flagstones and forces her eyes open. The effort sharpens the stone beneath her, but the soothing cadence keeps slipping between her thoughts.

Lisa
Luna, keep talking to me. Tell me what you can feel.
Luna reaches toward the small latch beneath her feet, seeking something solid to follow. Her fingers brush its edge, then lose it as her arms grow heavy.

The Soothing Voice
That is it. Let the tiredness take you. You do not need to fight anymore.
The chamber tilts softly around Luna. Lisa's voice becomes distant through the wall, and Luna's resistance fails as her eyes close and her hand falls still beside the unseen latch.
Sleep settles over her before she can inspect the mechanism or answer Lisa. The cold floor remains beneath her, while the sealed chamber holds her quiet and unmoving.
Director's note
I am fast asleep and the voice is having me go into a deeper deeper sleep and my mind is now open to all commands it gives but you try to fight it while asleep
“n-no I can't just can't”
FAILURE (Fair Willpower, rolled +0)

Luna
N-no... I can't. I just can't.
Luna forces her eyes open and reaches for the latch again. Her fingers find it this time, but sleep drags her wrist downward before she can lift it.

The Soothing Voice
That is enough. Rest now. Let your hand be still.
Her hand settles over the latch, and its pressure makes the hidden catch shift. A thin seam opens beside the floorstone, admitting a thread of cooler air and a faint line of gray light.

Lisa
Luna? I heard something. Keep fighting, if you can. There may be a way out beneath you.
The opening remains within reach, a usable path if Luna can find it again. Her awareness sinks deeper, yet the cool draft gives her one clear thing to follow through the dark.
