Adventure of nameless 1

Kneeling by the water, nameless swirls the calmer pill on his tongue and rinses his face, hands, and sleeves until the blood dulls into pink threads in the stream. The Young Prodigy watches in silence, still guarding the unconscious Hidden Prince.

When nameless rises, the pool settles. A pale dust clings to the wet stone ahead, too fine for earth, too bright for mud.

He follows the faint trail to what looked like a natural exit. The powder thickens at the threshold, packed in a careful line that cuts straight through the grotto.

It is no dust. It is tracker powder, metallic and deliberate, laid to mark a route already known to someone else.

Beyond the false exit, the markings point onward into the dark, a path that leads not out, but into a prepared hand.

Nameless turns from the marked opening and leads them the other way, deeper into the grotto’s split stone throat. The powder trail thins behind him, but the air ahead grows colder and tighter.

He shifts the Hidden Prince higher against his shoulder and follows, but the floor drops away in a clean, narrow split. Below, black water moves fast enough to hiss against stone.

At the edge of the gap, nameless spots a half-hidden notch in the wall, old footholds cut by hand and nearly swallowed by moss. The way is not safe, but it is a way.

Behind them, a faint scrape carries from the sealed side of the grotto, too distant to be a body yet too regular to ignore.
