Yuki Takamora jolts awake in the hospital bed, breathing hard as the nightmare recedes. Monitors track her pulse and oxygen while Keiji, Eric, Mu-shi, Brent, and Santana remain gathered around her.

Oh, good. A hospital. My narcolepsy has finally found a venue with better lighting.

Eric lets out a shaky laugh. Brent rubs both hands over his face, while Mu-shi sits rigidly in a visitor’s chair, his trucker hat pulled low. Keiji watches the monitor instead of Yuki.

So, how long was I out? Be honest. Did the band take advantage of me while I was asleep and rehearse without me?

Eric Greyman

We barely breathed without checking on you. The only thing we rehearsed was how not to panic.

Keiji Shinoda

Nobody is blaming you for narcolepsy. We need to understand what happened and support you without treating you like a problem to solve.

The doctor will come back soon. Until then, tell us what you need, Yuki. Do you remember anything from the nightmare?

Reach an understanding with Yuki about her role in the band

“I give Yuki space and listen without trying to solve it.”

Santana gives Yuki room beside the hospital bed, stepping back with the others while keeping his attention on her. No one presses her for an answer.

Yuki studies the ceiling, gathering the pieces of the nightmare without anyone interrupting. The monitor continues its steady rhythm beside her.

I remember the stage lights going out. Then I was backstage, except the hallway kept getting longer.

Eric stays quiet, his hands folded between his knees. Brent lowers his gaze, and even Keiji resists the instinct to turn the memory into an explanation.

I could hear the chorus somewhere ahead, but every time I reached it, someone changed the song. I know it was a dream. It still felt real.

Mu-shi remains still beneath his lowered trucker hat. The room lets Yuki’s words settle, offering attention instead of correction or advice.
