Your bound wrist pulses whenever you pass a concealed rune. The blue roots hold firm, tethering your forearm to Kharuun’s tomb above, but they do not prevent your descent or your careful search.

The stair ends above a vast chamber swallowed by darkness. Hundreds of luminous roots suspend an armored heart over the abyss, its slow pulse sending blue light across the floor and shaking dust from the distant arches.

Elian draws her narrow blade and positions herself just behind your shoulder. Merek raises his ivory staff, while Vaelith extends both hands toward the suspended heart. The chamber answers with a deep, waking throb.

Merek’s golden seal flashes across the ward-ring. Vaelith’s hands tighten, the roots recoil, and the ring fractures with a thunderous crack around the suspended heart.

The instant the barrier breaks, you wrench against the tethering roots and surge forward. Your sword arcs through blue radiance as Elian remains close behind your shoulder.

Your bastard sword drives into the exposed heart. The blade pierces its armored shell and sinks deep, splitting the pulsing core beneath a burst of cold blue light.

A colossal roar rolls through the abyss as Kharuun’s unseen body convulses among the roots. The heart collapses around your blade, and the wyrm’s waking force abruptly dies.

The roots lash inward, no longer threatening but sealing the dead chamber. Your tether slackens as the ancient binding releases your forearm, leaving the blue mark fading on your skin.
