The hunters reorganize at the basin’s western rim, danger still close. Their leader points two scouts toward the trail while the others form a guarded line between Huantah and the descent.

the hunter leader
We climb now. Stay clear of our path, great one. Any movement toward the western trail will be treated as interference.
The scouts spread through the scrub, checking footholds and sightlines. Their shields remain locked, and several spearpoints angle toward Huantah without quite threatening a thrust.

the hunter leader
You warned us, and we listened. Do not mistake that courtesy for trust. We leave one clear route, but only briefly.
Beyond them, the western trail winds beneath black thorn and leaning stone, offering cover from the volcano’s slopes. The hunters’ alert formation makes that opening narrow and immediate.

the scout
Leader, the trail is open. No movement below, but the basin gives us no shelter if the horned one follows.
The leader gives Huantah one final wary look, then raises a closed fist. The formation begins climbing, leaving the near rim watched and the escape route shrinking with every step.
