Marek Thorn halts the wedge in the narrow passage. Two scouts hold the front, the Hooded Survivor stays near him, and the rear line seals tight behind. Violet light breathes from the floor grooves under their boots.

Green Recruit Six
Those grooves are active. I can hear something ahead.
The dripping grows louder. Ahead, the corridor opens onto a chamber wash with dim rune-glow, where another Green force kneels at a wall of matching markings, fingers tracing the stones.

The Hooded Survivor
That is not empty space. That is a working path, maybe a trap, maybe both.
The distant team has not noticed Marek yet. Between the two groups lies the same pulse of violet light, a mechanism that seems tied to the chamber beyond.

Green Recruit Two
If they trigger it first, we lose the route.
Marek’s line of advance is clear now, deeper into the dungeon, through the rune-locked passage and past the rival Greens who are already working the stone.
✓ Quest Accepted
Hold the north passage without contact
“Marek holds position. Nobody advances or engages anyone.”
SUCCESS (Good Willpower, rolled +2)

Marek lifts one hand, and the wedge settles at once. Boots stop shifting. No one breaks rank.

Green Recruit Two
Holding, then. No rush.
The violet grooves keep pulsing under the passage stones, but the line stays still, teeth bared and waiting.

Green Recruit Six
The movement ahead is still there. We just are not chasing it.
From the chamber beyond, the rival Greens remain bent to the runes, unaware that Marek has frozen the corridor between them.

The Hooded Survivor
Good. Let them work blind a moment longer.
The floor hums once, low and tense, as if the dungeon expects someone to blink first. Nobody does.
