Adventure of Pablo 1

Rain hammers the alley as Pablo and the senioritas spill out beneath the shop’s stilted frame. Smoke pours from the shattered front, and the rear wall groans behind them like it might give way any second.

Across the trash-strewn lane, a black corporate drone rises through the rain, red optics locking on Pablo’s heat signature. Sirens swell closer.

Scarlett ducks behind a stack of soaked crates, while Tsubomi flinches at Pablo’s side, her eyes fixed on the drone. Harriet points down the alley toward a rusted service gate half-hidden by steam.

The gate at the far end begins to rattle as more boots hit the pavement behind them. Pablo’s choice is clear, run for the service cut, or stand and keep the enforcers from taking him.

Pablo snaps off a burst down the alley mouth, and the rain detonates into sparks where the rounds rake metal and concrete. The drone jerks back on its lift, buying Harriet and the others a sliver of cover.

Sera ducks low and shoves Scarlett ahead of the crates, while Tsubomi hurries after them, shoulders tight against the wet steam.

A red tracer clips Pablo’s shoulder plating, knocking a hot shard of pain through his side. The return fire still holds the lane, but it also paints his position for every optic in the rain.

At the far gate, steel rattles harder as figures crowd it from the other side. Harriet reaches for the rusted latch, and the alley tightens around them with smoke, sirens, and the sound of boots closing in.

Pablo rockets forward on his legs and slams into the rusted service gate. The impact buckles the metal inward with a scream of torn steel, and the crowding pressure on the other side breaks all at once.

The gate bursts open enough for bodies to spill through. Harriet grabs the gap and hauls Tsubomi into motion, while Sera shoves Scarlett straight into the dark beyond the alley.

Pablo lands hard on the far side, one leg sparking blue from the strain, and the broken latch tears free behind him. The alley light drops away into a service tunnel thick with damp concrete and old runoff.

Sirens slam louder outside as the Drone hovers at the torn opening, optics burning through rain and steam. Fresh boots hit the alley mouth, but the group is already vanishing into the city's underbelly.
