Sabers Beside the Passing Game
True Dave
True Dave

True Dave approaches the edge of the grass, light sabers secured at his side. He pauses, studying the children’s passing game and the careful lane they have made for Namine’s glow.

True Dave

True Dave

Excuse me. May I practice nearby? I’ll be careful not to interrupt your game.

The children glance toward the sabers, then back to the ball. Dave steps onto an open patch near the path, leaving plenty of space between himself and their passing lane.

The Park Children

The Park Children

Okay! Just don’t block our pass!

A child rolls the ball toward Namine, and the others spread out to receive it. Dave begins a slow, sweeping practice motion nearby, his attention fixed on the sabers.

The movement catches the children’s eyes. Their formation loosens as several heads turn, leaving the incoming ball to drift toward the edge of the group.

The Park Children

The Park Children

Hey, watch the ball! We’re trying to pass it to her!

True Dave stops with one saber half-raised. The children wait beside the ball, looking between him and Namine, while the next choice remains open.

Director's note

We're not really fighting.

“I smile and create blue light sabers to "fight" True Dave for the children.”

SUCCESS (Superb Reasoning, rolled +2)

Namine smiles, and two blue light sabers bloom in her hands. Their bright color reflects across the grass as she turns toward True Dave in an inviting stance.

True Dave

True Dave

Well, that’s a clear challenge. I accept.

True Dave draws his own sabers and lowers them into a playful guard. He keeps his feet planted well away from the ball and the children’s passing lane.

The Park Children

The Park Children

A saber game! Do the spinning move!

Namine and True Dave trade careful, exaggerated taps in the open patch, blue and bright blades meeting with soft clicks instead of force. The children watch, delighted.

True Dave

True Dave

Nicely done. You’ve got excellent timing.

The Park Children

The Park Children

Again! Then we’ll pass the ball to her!

“I sprout another four arms and strike True Dave with more light sabers.”

Missed — True Dave struck back for 7 damage

Four additional arms unfold from Namine’s holographic form, each carrying a bright saber. She sweeps all four toward True Dave in an exuberant, clearly theatrical flurry.

True Dave pivots into a neat guard and turns the sabers aside with soft, controlled clicks. None of Namine’s strikes reaches him, and he remains unharmed.

His answering tap catches Namine’s projected center with careful precision. The impact makes her light stutter and strains her already unstable form, but she stays upright and able to move.

True Dave

True Dave

That was ambitious. Let’s keep the blades high and the force low, all right?

The Park Children

The Park Children

Do it again! Make it a dance this time!

The children bounce around the edge of the open patch, delighted rather than alarmed. True Dave lowers his sabers and waits, leaving the next playful exchange to Namine.

“I choreograph a gentle saber dance with Dave”

SUCCESS (Mediocre Agility, rolled +2)

Sabers Beside the Passing Game

True Dave

Namine lowers the extra sabers and shifts into a simple rhythm. She and True Dave mirror one another across the grass, blades tracing small blue arcs above the ball lane.

Dave answers with a measured turn. Namine follows, crossing two sabers overhead, stepping aside, and opening the pattern so his next movement flows naturally through it.

True Dave

True Dave

That’s it. Keep the rhythm gentle, and let the motion carry you.

Their sabers meet in a soft sequence of clicks, then separate in matching sweeps. Namine’s six bright blades and Dave’s pair make the dance look grand without becoming dangerous.

The Park Children

The Park Children

Whoa! That really looks like a dance!

The children clap along from the edge of the grass. Dave turns beneath Namine’s raised sabers, and she completes the choreography with a careful bow.

True Dave

True Dave

Beautifully choreographed. Now we can send the ball back to them.

He lowers his sabers and steps clear of the passing lane. The children retrieve the ball, smiling toward Namine as the park settles back into its friendly game.

“I lower my sabers and bow warmly to the children and Dave.”

Sabers Beside the Passing Game
True Dave
True Dave

Namine lowers all six sabers together, their blue light shrinking away from the children’s passing lane. She bows warmly, first toward the children and then toward True Dave.

The bow holds steady despite the faint unevenness in her projection. The children answer with delighted clapping, their attention shifting happily from the blades back to the game.

The Park Children

The Park Children

That was awesome! Can you bow like that after every dance?

One child rolls the ball toward Namine with exaggerated care, while the others spread into their familiar receiving positions and leave her a clear lane.

True Dave

True Dave

A gracious finish. You made the whole park feel like part of the performance.

True Dave gives Namine a small answering bow, then steps aside. The ball reaches her feet, ready for the next gentle pass.
