Rin lowers the photo and looks at Naku like the words finally fit a wound they have been circling. The Synced Crew’s attention tightens, not mocking now, but listening hard.

One of the Synced Crew shifts its weight, blue eyes flicking from the photo to Naku’s face. The synchronized stillness frays by a hair, just enough to show the people under it.
