Velistra reaches the ruined shrine beneath a bruised evening sky. Beside the cracked altar stands a young adult woman with a lean build, wind-tangled brown hair, a weathered green cloak, and a backpack swollen with exploring gear.
Her face goes rigid at the sight of Velistra's red skin, crown-like horns, draconic wings, and dark organic armor. A brass lantern lies near her boots, its weak flame guttering across the dust.

What are you? Stay where you are.
Her right hand slides beneath her cloak, not yet drawing the weapon hidden there. Above, a fractured arch gives a long stone groan, and grit trickles onto the altar.

Not a statue. Not a spirit. It is watching me.
The shrine shudders. One altar slab tilts toward the explorer, whose freckled cheeks and narrow scar through her left eyebrow catch the lantern light, while another stone drops from the arch and bursts against the floor between them.

Velistra takes a few steps across the dusty floor. The explorer's hand remains beneath her cloak, but her rigid posture loosens as Velistra's voice settles into the shrine's echoing silence.

This place is falling apart. You should probably get out of here.
Mara Vey
She is warning me, not threatening me. And she expects me to listen.
The explorer draws a short knife, but points it toward the sagging arch rather than Velistra. Her gaze flicks to the widening cracks, then back to Velistra's glowing eyes.
Mara Vey
Then I will. Come on, if you know another way out, lead me.
She snatches up the brass lantern and moves toward the broken entrance, trusting Velistra's warning enough to abandon the altar and its unstable shadows.
“"Put that dagger away real quick. I dont want to cut myself." Velistra walks up to the explorer, picking them up under the shoulders and beginning to fly out of the collapsing shrine with her wings.”

The explorer hesitates, then folds the short knife and tucks it beneath her cloak. Velistra reaches her before the next tremor, sliding both arms beneath her shoulders.

Wait. You are actually going to carry me?
Velistra's wings burst open with a crackle of crimson membranes. She lifts the explorer clear of the fractured floor and drives upward, dust spiraling around them as the shrine groans below.

Her grip is firm. If she lets go, we both fall.
A falling fragment clips Velistra's extended wing, wrenching her shoulder and sending a sharp pain through the joint. She keeps her hold and angles through the broken arch into the open evening air.
They clear the shrine as its entrance collapses behind them. Velistra descends onto solid ground with the explorer still secured beneath her arms, while dust rolls outward across the stones.
