You reach a narrow ravine beneath the collapsed passage, clutching the dark crystal in one hand and your giant sword in the other. Loose stones tumble into darkness below.
Blue sparks seep between your fingers and crawl across the crystal's surface. Their cold light reveals ancient claw marks descending through the ravine wall toward a buried stairway.

The claw marks are older than the collapse.
The stairway's upper steps jut from packed earth and shattered stone, vanishing beneath the ravine. Faint air rises from below, carrying dust and a mineral tang.
Far above, torchlight flickers along the broken rim. The warrior has found the ravine, or is close enough that his pursuit stains the darkness with moving gold.
The crystal pulses once against your armor. The buried stairway waits below, while the distant lights descend toward you one careful step at a time.
