Adventure of RSV4 1

The highway runs west beneath a copper sunset. RSV4's white fairings and red markings catch the fading light as his tires carry Dave and Violet through the open ride.

Violet holds close behind Dave, her arms secured around him while he stays balanced on RSV4. Wind presses at their jackets, and the engine's steady note fills the shrinking dusk.

Ahead, a patrol vehicle cuts sharply across both lanes, blue lights strobing against the pavement. An average-built adult officer, a young adult man in a navy patrol uniform and black duty vest steps out, his messy black afro, mutton chops, and mustache stark in the glare.

The patrol vehicle blocks the lanes completely. Beyond it, the shoulder narrows between a concrete barrier and a strip of rough gravel, leaving almost no room to pass.

Dave's posture tightens beneath Violet's grip. The officer raises one hand and advances from the vehicle, while sunset glare flashes across RSV4's mirrors and drilled silver brake discs.

RSV4's throttle opens hard. His rear tire claws at the pavement, engine rising as Dave leans forward and Violet locks her arms around him.

The patrol officer steps aside as RSV4 reaches the blocked lanes. His front wheel lifts cleanly, clearing the vehicle's hood while blue lights strobe across his white fairings.

RSV4 sails over the roadblock, suspension stretched beneath him. Dave keeps the line steady, and Violet folds close against his back as the barrier drops away below.

Both tires land on the open westbound lane with a sharp, controlled compression. RSV4 accelerates into the darkening highway, leaving the patrol vehicle and its flashing lights behind.
